I don't think anyone has mentioned the M9. One of my all time favorites.
I didn't list any of the Scarpyard knives because for me personally I just don't like Res-C, not that's is a bad material I just don't like it.
Ya know, I just got my Ratweiler out and measured it, 7 3/4"! If you like a clip point, that is the one to look for. But its going to be a bit more on the secondary market than the Chopweiler. If you prefer value, then the Chopweiler is the target.
I do like the Res C knives, but I share a preference for micarta. Its just a personal liking, not a smite to the fans of Res C. I respect it for what it is in utility, but I just dont like the feel or looks. I get more hot spots from the Res C than I do from micarta.
If the Swamp had ever made the M7, then I'd probably be swayed in that direction, I love the M9 and its wider blade. The Rodent 9 is just too narrow for my taste. I know it fits more of the production sheaths, but .....![]()
There was a while when the Ratweiler was going through the roof in price, but thankfully prices are calming on them nowadays. But they are still more popular than the Chopweiler. Not sure why myself as I honestly prefer the Choppy, but its hard to deny the classic lines of the old style handle of the Ratweiler, Rat Mastiff, and Rat Daddy.I wonder why the Ratweiler would cost more than the chopweiler. I think they originally cost about the same amount did they not? And they announced the Ratweiler would be being made again but not the chopweiler. So it would make more sense that the choppy would cost more 2nd hand right now to me. I have noticed them for sale in the exchange around the same price most the time, But have noticed some ratweilers costing just a little bit more, well except the camo ratweilers... They seem to cost a bit more.
I wish they'd go ahead and bring the ratweiler back soon, i know its not going to be the same thickness or DHT, but it will still be an excellent knife im sure! I love my chopweiler, and im not sure the ratweiler could take its spot but im ready to find out!!!

The anniversary Ratweiler is nice and all, but the original is plenty hard to beat.
I saw the TGLB mentioned, I measured mine and yes, its under 8" as well! Lotsa choices out there in that size range.
