Alright, so I've certainly responded to enough threads here over the years, I guess it's about time I had to initiate one.

Short story long, I was interested in an item here on the exchange and pinged the seller. I got their payment information via paypal and sent the money. I DID use goods and services. I am typically pretty laid back about such things and didn't think much about it until. I assumed that the seller would send the item along in fairly short order.

A few days later I get a message from the seller saying something like: "dang the mailman screwed up, I had to go get your package and another that I sold and shipped from here at BF at the same time, here's your tracking number."

Cool, a few more days go by and I realize I still hadn't seen the package. I check the tracking number and lo and behold the number was created but the package was never delivered to the post office. I ping the seller and no response... but in fairness the seller has not been on since last Tuesday BEFORE I sent the message.

So, here I am. I recognize that stuff happens. Maybe the seller had some sort of emergency, cardiac event, alien abduction etc. etc. I don't want to jump the gun, but I'm thinking if I don't hear anything by this coming Tuesday I should initiate a charge back with paypal. Thoughts?

Email, sent we'll see what happens. Depending on how the seller responds I may be adding their name to this post and all the usual drama. I realized when I was checking on the details that it has been two weeks since I sent payment.

Two weeks means it should’ve been delivered by now even if origin scan was missed (someone dropping it in a blue box). Regardless, I find it irritating when people sell items and then don’t follow up to see that they’ve arrived safely and the customer is happy. All too often people take the money and turn ghost.

If your intuition tells you to get your money back and save yourself anymore doubt, then that’s what you should do. It’s up to you yo expose the member to possibly prevent someone else from having a similar experience.
You can check the member to see if they’re here to flip knives or are a part of the community. IMO, flippers/sellers only should be exposed to their non community ways.

Looks like this seller has been here for 2 months and has multiple listings across The Exchange. Wonder if he would reply to an offer on one of his other sale listings?

It's the seller's responsibility to make sure you get the item, and communicate throughout the process. Usually filing the claim will wake them up.

So the 24 hours was up and I was literally sitting here on the computer filing the dispute with paypal when a message came in through bladeforums where the seller tells me that the other item that he had for sale and shipped at the same time made it to the buyer and that the post office claims that it could be in their system they just didn't scan it. He further said that if it did not show up by Wednesday he would refund the purchase price. We'll see....

I work at the post office. If the origin scan was missed I can understand that. But once it got to the first hub it will get an arrival/departure scan. There is no way those scans are missed. I am calling bull shit.

Well today is the day. Should know by this evening. Waiting to see how this turns out.

So the package did not arrive I will message the seller momentarily. He can provide a refund as he suggested or I will file a PayPal dispute.
