I pruned two small trees out back and didn't take any pic's...I know, I know!
got'a take pics.
I thought about skinning the neighbors cat.. but was restricted to do so,lol
Funny you should ask. I have been neglecting some yard work so I got the Howler out this afternoon for a mild work out. Up 'til today it has sat in the drawer for a couple weeks.
Must be something in the air......I launched a 3 blade assualt on a menacing pine stump in my yard.....First in was the BBPTBR doing the most damage then came Bravo team which consisted on a Full Flat Grind RD9 and broke in my Mud Razor on it....all in all I gave that stump hell and wore the coating off the tip of the MR. Might launch a second assualt tomorrow with pictures.
I got my M6 this week, the edge wasnt too ground down from sharpening as I suspected, it was mostly the black coating that was worn off from sharpening by the previous owner.
I decided it was time to strip off the coating (very simple and quick process), now I'm in the process of polishing the blade out (it was very rough looking under the coating). The polishing is gonna take a lot of time but I think it'll be worth it once completed. With the work week coming up, I prolly wont be done until next weekend, I'll post some pics when done.
1)cut up the priority mail box it came it to make a temporary sheath
2)sharpen a stick to poke holes in the aluminum foil we were grilling hamburgers on
3)used it to seperate dollar store fudge stripes that had fused themselves together in stacks of 5 when they got hot and melted
4)stuck it in the picnic table, that always makes me smile
All I did was take my Battle Rat and Bog Dog out and look them over, polish them up, and put them away. Several weeks ago, I did use the Battle Rat to take down a 2ft high stump. Not as fun as dragging them out with a tractor, but still had a good time!
A buddy of mine knows I really like knives, so as a good gesture he bought me one.........a CRKT first strike.......don't lash me...I didn't pay for it, but I will break it tonight, That damned stump is BACK in my yard.
Didn't Steve Corkum make those? I didn't see his name mentioned in the page on CRKT. Anyway, with 440A steel, your friend might feel bad when you bust the knife in half, and he'll buy you a new one .
Surprisingly it is holding up nicely........till it went to battle with th Mud Razor. The FS has quite a nick in the blade where the MRs edge you can barely feel it.
I need a good Camera this is fun....I am enjoying trying to break a blade.
It just went to battle with a Railroad spike...pictures later
today I ended up using the hell out of my bandicoot and my M6. Cut some metal wire, metal core clothes line,an old bookcase to burn, wicker furniture, lots and lots of cardboard, chicken breasts for dinner, and then resharpened them both. Now am usinging the bandicoot to cut a carb for my beers. I havent drank heavy in a while its time to. Rode the cycle upto the liquor store and bought a 30 pack and stuffed the cans in my sadddlebags.
