So tell me what you think about some Becker DIY sheath kits

Jeez went out to wash my truck for a few and kaboom. Ok well lets see here

Dye, I wouldn't offer that. I would need to stock alot of it and it has to ship Ups orm-d due to being nuclear waste type stuff. Also the smallest I can get it is in 4 ounce bottles which you are going to want to cut with denatured alcohol and you can do several sheaths with that much, unless you spill it then your other half will probably kill you dead. You can also finish it in black on the cheap by making some vinegaroon.

Needles, Well I would probably throw in a pack of them. I hand stitch everything and can use the same two needles for months before breaking one. I've had other people in here to teach at times that can break one every 6 minutes without fail. :D

Axe sheaths, sure I can do those as well. easy peasy.

Lets see so the things a person would need to source:

dye/finish coat
glue
snap setter
rivet setter
some sandpaper to smooth the edges
stitching awl, optional - drill press works good, so does a finish nail and hammer actually if you can keep it straight

Hmm need to think a bit more on this.

Needle and thread if they don't go with the stitch awl. You mentioned needles but its not on your list, and neither is thread.

I was breaking about one a sheath at first :D now I have been using the same two for a long time.

Honestly, that sounds reasonable. I've tried some leather stuff here and there, and having the items precut is a huge piece of the puzzle that would make this more of a desirable project.

Funny this post shows up today! I visited the local Tandy Leather this afternoon and picked up a few tools, scraps and thread. I spent the evening drawing bending cutting punching and sewing some leather for my 14. The results were not quite what I had hoped for but it is use able, just not too fancy. I thought a few times along the way "I wish I had a pre cut kit or at least a template...All in all it was a learning experience and I like the design, now I have to work on the fundamentals and craft a sheath not just put one togther....

What about punching the holes before shipping? I would love to get one to do. I need to get a real Skystorm though too.
