So..the BM710HS is cut...

No more 710HS? WTF?

Guess I'd better get a couple more for the years to come.

So this is no longer a rumor?
Its confirmed?

Damn, need a couple more myself, this is going to hurt.

..started it all in AXIS locks. The 806D2 and now the 710HS.2 of their best designs/materials combos... Bummer-and how were they not selling?:thumbdn:

M2 steel is top end. Most knife users are not interested in steel choices only price. Corporate America is about making money, not nostalgia. Live and learn I guess ... just bought my 710HS on friday to go with my 710 SBT. Going to hate to see it go if it goes ... gettem while you can. The rest is history or a collectors buck in the future ...

Ok, BM, what are doing..?
Is this true? The BM710HS IS Benchmade to me. The good to bad ratio comments on this knife are like 9,876:1. If BM is discontinuing this knife, expect NIB models to reach the $3-400 mark. Maybe they're going to come out with the 707HS model to take it's place because the only persistent complaint about it is that it's OAL is too big. I don't know. It would be like Spyderco discontinuing Enduras and Delicas. Seems like BS to me but stranger things have happened.

Maybe they'll replace the 710HS with a s30v version so we can have a super steel and a satin blade. :) It will still be a shame to see the M2 version go away, if this is true.

If they do indeed stop producing the 710HS, I don't think I'll ever get a Benchmade. The 710HS is just about the only knife in their production line-up I'm really interested in.

I started a similar thread at the BM site. I ordered one last week. A few days later they called and told me that according to Benchmade the 710HS is now discontinued and they won't be able to fill my order. They said BM did offer to ship a plain 710. I did a quick search on the web and called 7 retailers and only 1 had them in stock. I ordered it right away. It is hard to believe that they would discontinue a knife that has the hype that this one does. I bet they just needed to make room for the new 520HS and 525HS! I received my 710HS on Christmas eve and I am very impressed with it! It is a little big in the pocket but a perfect size in the hand. It was shaving sharp out of the box and fit and finish is great other than the spacer. The spacer is good but not perfect. The only way I could improve it is to remove some of the handle right where the thumstud meets it when the knife is closed. I think It would make it easier to open and improve the grip. I was also pleasantly surprised to see that mine is coated with BK1.

THIS REALLY SUCKS!!!!! :thumbdn:

(I just touched up my 710HS last night and it splits hairs.)

I haven't seen anything official.

So far, its just a shortage of current production combined with rumor.

I'm already a bit disappointed in the lack of models BM offers in M2; and in all honesty, few of the new models have tripped my trigger.

Maybe a 630HS with a more acute grind (newer ones appear to have a better grind, at least on the one I bought).

But I'd rather have the 710 or 805 in M2.

I have had this dark cloud following me since reading this the first time.

I just can not imagine life without the M2 version here, or atleast for other new owners.

Well, atleast i can hope it only a temporary thing, maybe they have aquired some new steel to try in its place lol, nah i doubt that.

Guess, i am going to have scoop a couple more if i can find them to buy.
