Which Generation?
It's more of origins type movie. James T. Kirk and crew when they were young and just starting out.

Trailer 2 is the one to watch.
The guy from Heroes looks so much like Nemoy as Spock that it was really weird.
The way I heard it the Romulan comes back and time and destroys some ship which changes the timeline so that is why the Enterprise looks different and Captain Pike is in Command with Kirk as first OfficerExactly. The plot has changed a little since the beginning of production. As it stands now, it's a mix of old and new tech, since the whole time travel thing has come into play. I think at least part of the movie involves Kirk's first mission (The Kobayashi Maru scenario) and I think that's where at least part of the tension between Kirk and Spock comes from. I could be wrong on that last part though..... The main plot involves not only the early days of the crew, but also has the original Enterprise captain (Cpt. Pike), and somehow involves a Romulan named Nero. Details are still a little fuzzy, as is the case with a lot of J.J. Abrams stuff. But from what little I can gather said Romulan has a serious bone up his ass to kill Starfleet. Again, my details could be a little fuzzy, since I haven't been keeping up with it that much......
