it hits theaters this May......I'm looking forward to it. Anyone else?

My grandpa used to tape star trek on Beta in the 70's. What hope of not becoming a fan did I have with star trek marathons in his basement theatre.

Sure. Why not?

Sounds like fun.

Met Spock, Sulu, and McCoy at one time ... while still living in sunny SoCal. They were nice folks, one and all.

In fact, Sulu's folks fed us wondrous Korean food after my boys and I (military cadets) marched in one of their parades. HEY!! Their Korean Day parades!!:grumpy:

[Sheesh.]

Yup. The wife & I are both looking forward to it; there's apparently supposed to be some rather serious friction between Kirk & Spock? That oughta be interesting...

thx - cpr

Heard it's coming. Haven't heard any plot info. Looking forward to it.

I'll wait for this movie to come out on video rather than see it in the theater. I was a huge fan of Next Generation and Deep Space Nine, but I just never got into the original. I know a lot of people who are really excited about seeing it though.

Her should have stored them in the patten buffer of the transporter.

Easier to recover.

It's more of origins type movie. James T. Kirk and crew when they were young and just starting out.

Exactly. The plot has changed a little since the beginning of production. As it stands now, it's a mix of old and new tech, since the whole time travel thing has come into play. I think at least part of the movie involves Kirk's first mission (The Kobayashi Maru scenario) and I think that's where at least part of the tension between Kirk and Spock comes from. I could be wrong on that last part though..... The main plot involves not only the early days of the crew, but also has the original Enterprise captain (Cpt. Pike), and somehow involves a Romulan named Nero. Details are still a little fuzzy, as is the case with a lot of J.J. Abrams stuff. But from what little I can gather said Romulan has a serious bone up his ass to kill Starfleet. Again, my details could be a little fuzzy, since I haven't been keeping up with it that much......

Saw the theater trailer before seeing The Wrestler. The new Star Trek looks like a real winner.

The guy from Heroes looks so much like Nemoy as Spock that it was really weird.

Here is a link to all the trailers.

Trailer 2 is the one to watch.

Thanks, I missed seeing the second one. Now I'm really excited about it, looks to me like it's going to be a great movie!

Yeah, I was noticing that too. And he's a really good actor IMO, so he should do justice to the role.

The way I heard it the Romulan comes back and time and destroys some ship which changes the timeline so that is why the Enterprise looks different and Captain Pike is in Command with Kirk as first Officer
