So UGLY is is almost purty... gotta love it...

KD, I'm glad you knew I was just joking. The is some pretty good holster making. I do like your Glock porn too.

The main thing that I have against Ruger is their grip frame just doesn't feel right to me. Reminds me of my late dad's H&R Sportsman .22. Well that and the fact that before he had the good sense to leave this planet, Bill Ruger supported the Clinton gun fiasco.

Mind you I have/had several Ruger weapons.

All of the S&W wheel guns (except the 29 from the custom shop) and Glocks in my houehold have been 'smoothed up'. Having started with the K-frame Smith at age 20, I've had the oppertunity to own and work on all the frame sizes. Polishing one of these is a pleasure. I don't do enough to throw my Glocks out of the production class, but I do sweeten them up a bit too.

Thanks for the posts.

You made this, KD?

Hell of a holster there, bruh. I would be interested in something like that for my 442. Very nice work.
Been thinking about a Law holster for appendix carry. How does this thing work in appendix carry?

J

Thanks, man. It is just kydex with a leather backing. Holsters are much faster and easier with the kydex front. I make all leather on my OWB holsters, but they take a lot more time and skill to make.

Good question about appendix carry... I don't know if it would work for appendix carry or not. The SP101 is a bit large for me to do that comfortably, but it may work with a J frame. I will throw one together this week to try it out, and I'll let you know how it works.

Holsters are kind of difficult because one size never fits all. The design is highly dependent on body shape and personal preference. I got tired of paying $75-$125 for quality holsters and waiting months, so I just learned how to do it myself. I'm still learning, but having a good time with it. Here is one I did yesterday, complete with Redneck bling star concho :D.

LOL! thanks for the compliment.

The funny thing about the SP101 is that I never intended on buying one... until I picked it up at a gun show. It just felt "right" in my hand.... it fit my hand like it was born there. You gun-guys know what i mean. Well... knife guys too. Sometimes you just pick something up and you know that it is right for you. I'm enjoying it so far... hopefully I can pop a hog or two in the ear with it this year. :D:thumbup:

Great work, man. Definitely get back to me on the appendix carry J-frame holster. I love my 442 as a BUG, and have been thinking hard about what kinda holster would work best for me. I really like to keep it near my appendix because it makes for an easily concealable carry which is pretty much ALWAYS accessible. Problem for me is that I have Dunlapped Disease...

You know...my belly done lapped over my belt.:rolleyes::D

I'm working on getting rid of that, but I will STILL need a good appendix rig for my 442 (and possibly my G19 as well). Let me know what you work out with that holster. I'd even be willing to send you a couple dollars so you can buy some materials to experiment with.

If we you (maybe with some input) can put together something that works, I'm sure we can find a little market for it. ;) Might help that I'm an NRA certified instructor. ;) ;)

sweet knife. and nice holsters too. love those comp edges, and the decarb comes off pretty easy.
