there's late, and then there's late. some of the people who ordered survivors are still waiting almost 18 months after the promised delivery date. one of the two I ordered showed up unfinished. I love dan's knives, but he does tend to bite off a little more than he can chew, and it can get a little (or lot) frustrating reading about all his new projects while you've been waiting for your order since last year, and seeing his hobby posts while your e-mail goes unanswered week after week. in the future I'll probably stick to buying his one-offs, just because I know I won't have to wait. but only probably.

Jeez..... The problem isnt with Dan guys... Hes waitin too. The size of the runs he does are an imense undertaking. He is one man. I would hate for him to grow to not like his craft b/c he has to break his back in the shop. Long wait times happen, hurdles have to be jumped as they present themselves.

Sometimes you gotta wait. Patience is a virtue.

The original post did say 12-14 weeks. It was removed. It is noted that the post was edited on 7-17-2009. You are not alone in wondering. There are many more wondering too! They are just not posting.

There are two sides to every coin. I certainly can understand some concern about how long things sometimes take.

But, I would also make the observation that if Dan didn't have to hold your hand throughout the process, he might have two hands to use making knives. :thumbdn:

This post was meant to express my frustration NOT to bad mouth Dan or anyone. I also had no intention to start arguments between members. Some good points have been address as well as some points that are irrelevant. I guess some people have gotten issues off their chest (me included) that they have been wanting to say for awhile.

Dan has at least posted another answer and updated the current status.

This thread is closed since I see no further use at this time.
