So, what are we getting for christmas?

Guess I should start off by saying that I have been an excellent boy this year!! So I decided to go custom and will be getting a Crawford Kasper folder. One of my favorite designs, and I like Pat's and Wes's heavy build they give many of their knives. I also like the idea of the flipper on the Kasper, along with the Spydie hole.

Nice Cutter! I haven't owned one but I handled a Kasper at a show and wished I had more cash. Amazing knife!:thumbup:

I'd like to get a Case Red bone CV Muskrat and maybe a Busse Basic 4 ( that one aint happenin' ) but I'll take whatever I get.

gf got me spyderco paramilitary 2 and sharpmaker, and i got myself the 5.11 tarani first responder and spyderco manix 2

Somebodies have been looking under the tree. NOT ME!

Actually I don't know if I'll get anything this year. The wife announced that she ran out of money before she got an idea for me so not to expect too much...

At least I have her!

Back to square one, as I found out the Kasper had a combo blade, and I ain't into combo blades. So now the hunt starts anew. Looking at a damascus SR-1 from Lion Steel, another SD-3 from John W. Smith, maybe a HTM Madd Maxx with assisted opening, maybe a Crusader Forge FTIP, if it stays long enough for me to pick it up on Friday, or Monday. Don't know for sure about them and it may not be any of them. But it will be something, and will be under my tiny little Christmas Tree.!!

I have a feeling my wife is going to surprise me (otherwise, why would she suddenly be getting the bladehq e-newsletter?!) but I've only asked for one...

I asked for many but the only one I know I'm getting is a victorinox cadet in orange alox. It's surprising how much time the wife will spend looking for something just to not hear me talk about it anymore. ;)

One of these

I just opened the box today (early gifts, isn't it great?). I finally got a millie. It's about damn time!

I also got an ultra fine sharpening rod for my sharpmaker (yes, just one rod...) and a knife care kit from Case. I mostly wanted the tuffglide dry lube, flitz metal polish and tuff cloth. The other stuff is nice I suppose and the little carrying thing is nifty.

So I've jumped over to square two. I have a Dozier large folding hunter being held for me. It is a brand new one marked 2011 and was picked up from the Tulsa Knife Show this past November. I know that the handles are made from .170" thick titanium, with an inlaid liner that looks pretty thick itself, while the blade is around the .150" thick mark, and I do like thick, and 3.5" in length. Don't know the weight, but am going out on a limb to guess 5.5 to 6.0 ounces. Blade is D2, of course, and it seems that Bob Dozier is recognized as the master of D2, and that's all I got to say about that.:thumbup:

This knife is a simple affair with a minimal number of parts, and I like the idea of this simplicity. I don't know for sure if I would use this knife really hard, though I have no doubt it would stand up to it and ask for more, but my knife needs on a normal day just do not merit a knife this strong. But that has never stopped me from carrying a large, thick, weighty knife every day. I've been carrying my JWS SD-3 for the past couple weeks, and have loved it. I think it has something to do with "pride of ownership" and having something in my pocket I KNOW I could count on if that need does arise!:thumbup::)

I'm buying this one from eBossHoss and feel like I was lucky to get it, even if it is fairly expensive (for my wallet at least), before it got snapped up. A Google search of Bob Dozier folders did not pull up a lot. Here are pics from eBossHoss;
