So, what beer did you buy to drink at Thanksgiving?

Just got back from the store... got a sixpack of Sam Adams winter lager, a sixpack of Smithwick's Irish Ale and a sixpack of Leinenkugel's Apple Spice beer. (the guy there said to serve that one at room temp, the flavors are more pronounced.) I was kinda skeptical about the Leinies, but what the heck... worth a try.
I'm hiding the Sam Adams Cream Stout and the Guiness. That stuff is too good for my boozehound bro-in-law.;) Of course, there is Old Style and Miller Lite for those that don't know any better.
Hope all y'all's Thanksgivings are/were great. Gonna be rooting for the Falcons and Broncos so they can help my Bears!

For beer I packed in a bit more Stella Artois as I love that stuff.

To go with dinner, there's a couple bottles of 2004 Pouilly Fuisse (white burgundy) to go with the bird. The Wife loves this wine.

Then there's a 500ML of Warre's Otimo ten year old Tawny Port to go with the dark chocolate Pecan pie I plan on having for desert.

If you're going to be in the neighborhood, drop by:)

It should be fun.

For health reasons I stopped drinking. But if I was to buy anything it would be River Horse Pale Ale and River Horse Lager.

Grabbed a 12-er of Saranac Pale Ale (was on sale), 2 bottles of Gekkiekan (sp?) Sake & a botttle of Taylor Fladgate Reserve Port. There are a couple of bottles of a lesser Shiraz rolling around here somewhere as well- I think I've been pressed into cooking for a motley crew of orphans & stragglers tomorrow...

Michelobe Sampler 18 pack comes with two glasses, for like 20 something not a bad price. Also I have some Johnny Walker Gold, good stuff and not quite blue label prices.

I forgot to get anything... But bro-in-law brought Sam Adams, so it's all good!

I love those Michelob sampler packs, but I haven't seen them this year. Damn-near everything in there is damn good! The Martzen is particularly tasty, and I've never seen it for sale except in the sample packs.

OOOOOh, I didn't know that Smithwick's was available in the States. I've had it in Ireland. Very tasty from the tap. As for me, life's too short to wait for the beer to kick in, so I'll be alternating the Redbreast and Connemara Irish whiskies. :D

King Cobra 40 ounce. Because life's too short.

a sixpack of Smithwick's Irish Ale...
I had Smithwick's many times when my ship was in port in Ireland / N. Ireland. Only after making a fool of myself at least a dozen times did a kind bartender tell me it was pronounced "Smiddick's". :o

I can't drink beer (Damn Gout :(), but I can still smoke a couple bowls of weed, and then eat like a pig.:D.:D.

Glockman, I am a fellow gout sufferer but as long as I take my allipurinol, I can drink in moderation without a flare up. I feel your pain!

Oh...the beer, St. Pete's.

Bob W I feel you on the Martzen its real good shit, but yeah I have never seen it outside of the sampler packs. I will probably buy 3 or 4 more by christmas, my g/f loves the glasses and I love the beer:D

Labatte Blue is pretty good, I also like Labatte Ice, As far as good beers go I like Youngs Dirty Dicks English Ale, real good shit, in fact I am on my 5th right now.

Still have some of the beer, the Sake is long gone, I used a little of the Port for a balsamic vinegar/port reduction for the carrots & pearl onions, there is an empty Jameson bottle in my kitchen (of which I didn't drink a drop for some reason) & some wine left behind by a couple of the guests. The fire is finally out in the chiminea in the back yard- everyone has gone home & I get to grab a good night's sleep before work tomorrow. Hope everyone here had as good a time as I did w/ family & good friends- very blessed indeed. Happy Thanksgiving to one & all.
