Well my Christmas is not quite over yet, but so far I got a Dem Bart checkering handle and 16 LPI cutters, a VZ-24 Mauser action, a Cabelas AG S30V Buck 110 (non stag, have that one already), case of Fed Mag Match primers, a Mathews Switchback XT, and whatever else my folks have for me. I asked them for a bunch of stabilized wood blanks and S30V billets, so hopefully that works out for me. I was hoping for a KMG, but at the time when I asked for it for Christmas, my wife did not think I would be able to finish my first knife:jerkit:  . That's okay.

I got all my christmas knives completely done and sharpened today. I have to post pics of the 154CM fillet knife. I was gonna take the plunge and start checkering the handles on the hunters, but I did not know if I could finish it before I have to send em off. Just gonna have to wait till I get the camp knife done.

So what did Santa bring for you guys? Gifts are nice, but as long as we have family and our health toys can wait sometimes.

Tim

I got a Grizzly 2x72 knife grinder !! :D This is the first step in my knife making venture. I need to set it up still and get in running. I think this is my first post, but I have been lurking for awhile now and absorbing every bit of knowledge this board has to offer. I can't wait to start practicing.

New Loggy treestand, Outdoor Edge hybrid Hunter, $200 to Gander MT., and $400 towards a KMG, and some cloths (but they don't count).

For the shop I got a Dewalt heavy duty 4-1/2" angle grinder from my folks, and my sister got me a nice set of vice grips along with a new soapstone holder and refills for it. Also got gift cards to lowes and home depot from my other sister and my brother. I'm trying to come up with a new welding project now :D
Coolest gift though was my dad built me a custom gun case. Made from red oak and hangs on the wall, has spots for 2 long guns side by side. So I've finally got a way to show off the muzzle loader I built. Its just a kit gun from lyman, but it shoots good and I got my first deer with it. Not sure what to put on the other side.....might have to start on another rifle

I got a Personalizer Plus (backordered...will be shipping next week :( ), a nice new jacket and a Pendelton wool hat, a gaint crock pot BBQ slow cooker, a really nice 5mm tungsten ring, and some other odds-n-ends.

More importantly though I got to finish up a nice damascus letter opener for my grandmother who's up visiting from Florida. It's a 224 layer twist pattern blade with stabilized birch or maple burl scales (not sure which, they were a freebie with an order) and 1/4" stainless bolts. I finished it about 1am this morning and didn't get pics last night, so I told Grandma I had to get pics before she left and that I'll need her to bring it back once my Personalizer shows up so I can mark it.

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!

I got that from my honey, Mark. That's all I ask for every year! I pack my head full of visions, then go make stuff from ideas that stick in my head.

My first post, Hi all.

I got an Emerson combat Karambit which I promptly shaved the whiskers off of my chin with. Yes on purpose.

Well I was happy to get a little TIME this week to install some Corian counters in the 'clean' (haha) / assembly portion of my shop. I've had the material (a lot of it) sitting around since my neighbor remodeled and took out their virtually new Corian and replaced it with granite. That was a couple years ago and FINALLY, it's in.

It's pretty 'Bling'.

The only problem now is that I look around at the rest of the place and think, "Man, What a dump!"

snazzy foul weather clothes for my trip to New York, some cool books, etc. I "gifted" myself some new tools, including a Ray Rybar hammer and a guillotine fuller from Pieh Tool. And my early Christmas present to myself was a mini-lathe.

I got a wonderful day with my lovely wife. Who also got me a Harbor Freight metal cutting bandsaw and a telescoping roller stand to hold the rebar handles that are tack welded onto my billets when in the forge. She did the roller stand idea all on her own. She noticed how I sometimes had trouble keeping the billet where I wanted it, and saw them at Harbor Freight when we were picking up the bandsaw. She went back the next day and got the stand as a nice surprise. Gotta love a woman like that. She also got me a 12 pack of microbrewed beer (all different). And other stuff. Just a very nice day all around!

Got me the latest Dremel Tool, with the lithium Ion rechargeable system. Might actually help me finish a knife or two down the road. :)

I got a 2 Day lesson on how to forge at a local Art and Crafts school.
I have been wanting to learn all I can befor diving in to this. I get to chose what I want to make!!!! A KNIFE!!! (It was a no brainer)
