So what do I have here?

Hi all,
my buddy is a long time member of this forum and I have always been more of a firearms collector and usually perusing those forums. I recently moved and had to empty my safe and had a few knives that I had forgotten I owned. I'm not a very sophisticated blademan so I was curious about any information I may get on some of these knives e.g. their relative market value and collectibility, etc. Looking to add a new 1911 to the stable and may put these up for sale if I can learn whether or not it would be worth it.

*edit - all knives are factory new and never used/carried

Those are all good knives IMO. People may have different opinions on the HTM's. That ADV is pretty well sought after.

How did you come to acquire these over the years without knowing much about them? They aren't so much 'surface level' blades.

Who is your friend on this board?

I collect very high end Colts and my FFL usually had a bunch of knives sitting around the shop. I would often grab one or two if he insisted they were a worthy buy. I'm kind of a sucker for the hard sale and I always imagined I would carry one but seem to stick with my little pro-tech folder that I've had forever. I don't know what his handle is here on the forum. I'll ask him

To be honest, I was probing to see if anything smelled funny. This forum has been used by people before for less than honorable deeds, and your situation is not the most common. But after a few more posts its easy to see you are genuine. Cool of you to buy the gold membership! You'll get a ton of answers and knowledge no doubt!

LOL, no worries. Colt collecting has become an absolute drag due to fake packaging, fraudulent sellers, etc. I totally get it. Just curious about what these blades mean and if I can parlay them into a new shooter for the range.

no worries, took me a minute to figure out.
 
HTM's will probably be hardest to sell (although I'm not familiar with their custom shop). The Protechs should sell easy enough. The ADV will probably be easiest to sell and net the most.

But what do I know :o
 
I don't have dollars for you, but the think all my of them should be able to move fairly quickly. Maybe try a couple in an informal auction format where people can make an offer. Obviously allowing them to go at slightly lower pricing than market will make sure they move fast.

Just a point of reference, I picked up a couple HTM's a while back. Thought I was getting a real bargain until I discovered that the street prices for the model I got (one of the lesser desired however), was going for 50%-60%, even close to 70% off retail. So I didn't really overpay, just didn't get the bargain I thought. I still have one as I do like it. Only one thing the bugs me about it, but since it will not be an EDC because of bulk, I'm not sure I really care about the flaws.

Guessing that the Protechs's will be the first to go and most desirable. I don't know anything about them, but would love to add a couple like yours for the right price.

So what is the best way to list them in the classifieds in this auction format?? most forums I am a member of require a clear asking price. I would like to sell them as an entire lot if possible. And which classifieds would i list in? production folders?

Thank you. I'm still curious about relative market value. I would prefer to sell vs trade. I'm pretty particular with my shooters and usually have them customized a bit.
 
I've listed them for sale as a lot. feel free to check it out and let me know if i'm out of line with my price. i will take civilized offers for the 5 as a package deal
