So what is your worst cut from one of your knives

Becker Bk9 lobbed a very large piece of the flesh of my left pinky.

It took me out of Judo for months while it grafted back on with athletic tape, alcohol, guaze and neosporin; no insurance no stitches.

It never healed right and still causes pain to the damaged nerve that interferes with my work, teaching guitar.

Never leave your front hand out in front your knife for any reason.

I was putting a patina on a carbon steel blade, when I went to wipe it down, it cut straight into my pointer finger on my right hand, a pretty deep little cut. They had to glue the cut together, put a splint, and wrap up my hand and part of my forearm, all for one little cut that was less than an inch.

Now it has a more personal patina! xD

Oh yes, I required a splint too, I made that out of chopsticks

I got bit by my BK2 a year or so ago. I was attempting to put on a ranger band for added grip traction, and I failed to duct tape the blade edge as a precaution. My right hand slipped off the end of the band while getting it in place on the scales, and I ran the side of my thumb down the blade edge. Couldn't hardly get it to stop bleeding either....pressure, elevation, and three coats of super glue later stopped it, though :)

I sliced my index finger up pretty badly with one of my knives. I believe it was the Gerber Firestorm that I'm coincidentally carrying today. Man, that thing didn't want to stop bleeding. By the time the super glue dried and the blood thickened up around the cut, my finger looked pretty rowdy. I'll try and get a pic in later today.

When I was real young I was whittling with a SAK and the blade bit too deep into the wood and flipped around. I had my thumb on the spine of the blade so it sliced the length of my finger. I had scar tissue pop up when I handwrote essays in class for probably ten years after that one.

Recently, I wasn't thinking and tried to close my cold steel spartan with one hand. I pressed the tri-ad lock and flicked the blade forward... I cut my pointer finger on the first knuckle down to the bone... There was a bunch of blood and it took forever to heal because I work with my hands.

The other day I was sharpening my manix2 LW and when I was done getting it laser beam sharp I started practicing opening techniques and basically fuckin around. I was doing a spydie drop and I slipped while I was flipping it up... It flew way up in the air and landed tip down just above my knee. It sunk about 3/4" into my leg.

Stabbed between my thumb and pointer when i was 13 on my left hand. Lost all feeling on the left side of the thumb

Severed radial artery. Dropped an original Spyderco Zowada. "Caught" it in my forearm (not sure how, was not effing around with the knife). Gravity + spear point = very big mess.

When I was young and stupid I wedged a knife into frozen meat and the knife finally went through and wedged in my left index finger bone. Was not fun.

lately I reached inside my knife roll (more stupidity) and my yanagi had slid out of its saya and sliced a tic tac size skin off my thumb.

Just started on the hobby for about 1 week.
Was breaking in the sheath of my KA Bar TDI , then I accidentally stabbed myself in the HEART! AND I DIED.
Nah , Just stabbed myself on the index finger , just bandaged it . Doesn't look like much from the outside by you can feel how deep it is .

Just got home from a gun show and was opening a case of ammo, with a cheap knife that I just bought from the show. I was sitting down on the ground attempting to slice the box open and the knife got snagged. I added more pressure and the knife stabbed me in the shin. Blood was leaking out everywhere.........Straight to the emergency room.

I opened an SAK wrong one time and it cut a little skin off my face...

Did that a couple of times myself, it's a real pain in the farticus maximus.

At about age 10 I was hacking a piece of bamboo held against a tree. About 1/8th the end of my thumb went when I misjudged where the Navy (US Navy) fixed blade was going to hit. Held my arm up so the blood dripped off my elbow thinking I'd get some sympathy rather than a chewing out when I got home. My mother, a former RN, had no sympathy but waited for Dad to do the honors of chewing me out and pointing out my obvious stupidity.

About 4 years ago, when I was around 13, I had found a cylindrical piece of rubber in my house and heard that something inside was rattling. I wanted to see what it was, so I got out my cheapo Master Cutlery stockman, and using the sheepsfoot blade I tried a thrusting motion into the rubber. No idea why I didn't slice it instead of using a sheepsfoot for stabbing, but I did. Took a lot of pressure as you would imagine, but when it entered, it went through the side, out the back, and slid across and into my left middle finger. Cut a slice 2 inches across, and all the way to the bone, so deep that I could actually see the curvature of the bone. I yelled for my stepdad, who was completely freaked out and called my mom, who was currently at Nursing school, and she calmed him down. Some superglue, gauze, and electrical tape later the bleeding finally stopped. When my mom got home and saw it, she said I needed stitches, but I convinced her that it was fine for the time being. I got grounded from my knives for about 6 months, odd punishment, but it worked better than any other grounding. To this day I have little to no feeling in the tip of my finger.

Ouch! Cut away from yourself my brother... away from yourself :o

Yep, and keep or hands out from under the blade. I was splitting a dowel rod down the middle, as I was getting the edge to bite into the top, so I could push down from on top, the blade sliced through at an angle , down onto my fingers

Hogue EX-04.
The only hair whittling factory edge I have ever experienced.

6 stitches.
