So what JK's will you be ordering next?

I've got to be honest about the RUSK - I don't remember.

I know that sounds funny if not foolish, but I saw a picture of the RUSK on John's website and just loved it. The picture is no longer there and I do not remember much about the knife, other than the fact that I have one on order.

That's probably a good thing; as seeing the picture (when John posts it) will be a surprise to me. It's almost as though I'm getting a present that I really know nothing about.

I suppose that could be called "Looking at the bright side of growing old and forgetful."

lol. that's awesome! merry christmas tahts!

I finished my template for the "Huron EDC". :)

Jeff

Could we get a photo of that by chance, or an overall size, description of what it was designed for, anything........

Always look forward to seeing what you come up with

Thanks Derek. I'll post a shot of the cutout with some dimensions.

Ooooooohhhh..

Now I'm really excited. I knew I had loved it and ordered one, but for the life of me I couldn't begin to describe the knife. Thanks for posting the picture John. With my horrible memory, I'll probably forget what the RUSK looks like by the time it is finished. So that's two fantastic surprises with one knife. Ya can't beat that.

Here's the template for The Huron EDC with a couple of other JK's (RWC & Poto) for comparison. This one will be 7 1/4" overall with a 4" handle. The actual cutting edge is 3" and the blade is 1 1/8" tall at the choil. I'm going with 3/32" stock on this one with gently contoured handle scales. The template feels pretty good and I can get a nice full four finger grip. As you can see, it's fairly flat along the spine and the blade has a little belly to it. I think the deep choil will put you up close and personal with your work and the fine point will be good for detail. Since there's nothing new under the sun, I tried to incorporate some of my favorite design elements from my other small knives to make a hybrid of sorts. Thanks for looking! :)

I ordered an improved bowie. I should have it in late September. I'm going to make it my EDC.

JDS1:  can't wait t see it made! I like the other two in that picture as well, :)
Duro: thats one heck of an edc :)

Looks like a bit of the Roach Belly Lite in there too.

There is actually a LOT of RBL influence in this knife. I just added a bit of drop, a bit less belly and a longer (different) handle. I'm a sucker for the back pocket knives! I'll be mailing you the pattern this week.

Hi Jeff -

Your knives are such that I think I can look at one and tell it is your design - they have a style.

I miss my RWC - I gave it to Kirill after our last Waterloo gathering - actually he chose it when I laid out a few knives for him to pick from .

I know that I'm a creature of habit when it comes to knife designs, but I really like the small blades. :)
