so what knife will open your x-mas gifts?

I used my Spyderco Persian and Becker Necker. :)

Everyone in my family is used to me carying at least one knife, so I am the default present opener. :D

My Spyderco SS Cricket SE......ALOT of cutting power in a little blade. ;)

Ended up using a BM31--it felt the most "Christmasy" when I went to pick one out this morning.

D2 OD Griptilian to cut ribbon and taped packages and PE Merlin for any blister packs that needed opening. Hawkbill blades rule for cutting blister packs.

Merry Christmas to all!

A Benchmade 705BC1HS and a Kershaw Left Hand Mini Task. Both knives made short work of opening my daughter's Christmas gifts. Larry

My large woody Sebbie came through in fine fashion today as it was put to the test in opening up several boxes that had been fiendishly taped in every conceivable area. Scotch tape was simply no match for the razor sharpness of the S30V!!

BM 31 did all of my opening, and it worked great! However, I used my Bitteroot to open the BM 31.

Usually I get a knife, last year I got a tool, I use last years to open this years , had to use my Sebenza.

This year, a real three bladed Whittler! Two clips and a modified sheep, double springs on the large clip. Great!

Actually, nobody ever wraps my presents anymore. Most times, everyone just gives me envelopes or cards since usually, everyone just gives me gift certificates. I use my MOD hornet or whatever EDC I have to open stuff that came through shipped or through USPS but that's about it for me. I will open everybody elses stuff if requested which my mom really likes. I cut at the tape rather than the paper so my mom can save it. I'll use my Superknife for that. Talk about cheap! She's got Rubbermaid containers full of assorted gift wrap, ribbons, bows, bags and boxes. Anything involving packaging and wrapping. All recycled. Funny thing is that I've never seen her reuse any of it.

Camillus 154CM EDC.

If I could locate my Explorer survival knife that I got for Christmas in junior high (~1985) then I'd use that, mainly for the nostalgia value and the laugh it would get from my parents. My dad always made fun of me for opening Christmas gifts with it.
