I thought I'd start something along this line just because we've got some new people here. It's nice to see everyone around.
So what was your first Busse, and do you still have it?
Okay, I'll start: My first was a regular ol' CG SJ, that is combat grade, black micarta scales, and black coating. Unfortunetly, I traded it, but I got another one (exactly the same) back a little after I got my 2nd first Busse (does that make ANY sense? ), which was a CG ZT Mistress. I now know why Jerry called them Mistresses, because they sure do compete with the wife. :o

The one that started it all for me was a satin finished Mr. Mefo. Once I held it I was hooked. I think it is still my favorite.

my first Busse was a SHSH2, it was one of the 45 that was offered with the crinkle finish blade and diagional grooved canvas scales

still kick'in myself in the arse every time i think back to that time, I could have gotten a SH 'Ghost' from the same fellow dirt cheap :barf: :barf:

My first Busse was a Basic 9, followed closely by a 1/4" thick SJ CG, and it was like eating potato chips after that - I couldn't stop! ;) :D I still have the B9 and SJ.

My only regret is not buying Busses years ago when the SHSHII was $247 and SHBM was $297; both were current models at the time. :grumpy: About two years ago I did find a nearly 5/16" thick, well used INFI SHSHII for $295, and was happy to get it for that price. I still like the straight handle models. :)

Meaner Street DC Black Canvas  follow two months later by a FSH Black Crinkle with Green Linen micarta
Very happy with both :D

A Bird's Beaked Steel Heart II in A2 steel, bought directly from Busse Combat in 1994, closely followed by an original Badger Attack. I still have both.

Although, I had ordered a Air Recuse TAC, first.

I couldn't wait for it to arrive, so I bought a SFNO from the Company Store, to handle my INFI craving.

First was an Apprentice Mean Street, cord wrapped, with the front talon hole still intact. $100.

Same day I took a chance on a SHSHII.

Been a slippery slope into the sty ever since....

My first was also an SHSHII. Awesome!! 39 Busse knives later with a few on the way, The family is growing rapidly

Mine was a Leaner Meaner, satin with paper micarta, still my EDC.

(makes all the other Busse knives I own jealous)

January 4th 1999 I ordered a Set (I did not know what I would carry so I figured I could sell whatever did not make my hand "Happy).

January 5th my oldest boy found out and suggested that a School Kife would be better than a School Ring,,,,and my daddy-inlaw found out and asked me to get a few for him.

January 6th 1999, I called to change my order, it was now up to Ten knives.
I was told the knives would get here about 12 weeks later(this was even worse than the infamous "Two weeks" an unknow term at that time)

October 17th 1999 I received five or six of the knives including a BM/2SH I picked one of the Steel Hearts as my carry knife,,,yes I still have it, my son still has the other Steel Heart it was and is his High School knife.

I bought one of Stinky's perfect grind ZTNOs and had Leatherman make a rocking rattler inlay sheath for it. I don't think I could part with the combo. Best part is I made it a user the first day that I got it. I love that knife.
