So, what's the verdict on the Axis Lock?

Great design, simple, makes you think "why didn't I think of that ?"

Anyway, I had two springs break on me. I think this was because I got the knife second hand and it may have been caused by a lack of maintenance. Both springs which broke were the original springs which came with the knife.

Now my axis lock knife (940) is lost. Damnit

Dedicated Frame-Lock man here, but I have to say that the Axis Lock has proven itself tried and true.

I don't have an Axis-lock knife yet.
I've looked at them, and some of them are tempting to me, but no sale.

The Axis lock requires a thicker handle than other locks, making IWB carry less comfortable than thinner knives.

The 94x series are thin. The 960 series are thinner. As an IWB holdout, I am unaware of any reliable folder with a handle thinner than the BM 530, it's insanely thin. No offense, but I think you need to handle more Benchmades.
