The question was asked; "So what's yer favorite Becker?", so I'm askin'; "So what's yer favorite Camillus?"

For me, it is the Camillus Cuda CQB-1...MY* CQB-1. That knife just "feels right". The blade is ATS-34, the scales are canvas micarta, the fit and finish is perfect, the ergonomics are excellent, and it balances very well. It also happens to be my all-time favorite knife.

*I have customized MY CQB-1 by:

-Slightly rounding the spine of the blade.
-Cutting in a choil at the base of the cutting edge.
-Smoothing (and polishing) the edges of the scales.
-Polishing the sides of the "false-edge" of the blade, as well as the entire outside edge of the steel.

I am fortunate enough to have two of these....#131 of the first edition, with the fiddle-back Maple handle (& the one that I plan to carry ), is actually the better looking knife. I just figured #75 would be the better collector piece. Nice thread - tough question. I like the Norman Rockwell Scout knives and the Talonite pieces, too. Take care, Rob

i would have to say it's my cuda maxx, rides good in the pocket, feels great in the hand, and workmanship is excellent.and it makes peoples eyes bulge when it take it out-i love it-lol

will be getting cqb 3.... I wonder how well it would be.

It should be a very good knife. The main differences between it, and the CQB-1, is that the steel is blackened 0170-6C...The SAME steel that is used in the excellent Camillus/Becker BK series, (rather than the satin ATS-34 of the CQB-1), the sheath is different...It's a "belt-sheath" made out of nylon, with a kydex insert like the BK-7, BK-9 and BK-10 sheaths, (rather than the Kydex sheath with the Tech-Loc & IWB belt-loop of the CQB-1), and it costs about 1/2 of the price of the CQB-1.

CUDA Maxx Bowie! I look forward to the Aftermath, but there just isn't much room for improvement with the original Maxx. :)

My second choice would be the OVB Fisk Southwest Bowie. I still can't believe that a piece of steel that size can be that quick and well-balanced.

It is without a doubt the OVB Fisk Southwest Bowie. As far as I am concerned this Bowie has the right length blade and it looks great.

glockman99: I think I'll get it sheathed for a kydex from Normark ;)

My favs would be a tie between the three versions of the OVB Bowie and my custom shop stag handled Talon w/Cape Buffalo sheath - impecable workmanship on all four - Talon was one of original series with a shorter blade.

...GOOD plan!...Eric makes excellent sheaths.:).

JTC...If you ever decide that you've grown tired of your CQB-1 (fat chance, huh?), please let me know, as I can ALWAYS use another one, and I have alot of good trading-stock available!.:D.

Dang, I love MY CQB-1 even more, everytime I handle it!.:).

Camillus Talonite Talon and I am searching for the mini version ...

David

PS: I had the EDC too but was too small for me... so I got the custom one :)

That's a tough choice between the Talon and EDC. I love them both. The wife swiped the Talon on me for the kitchen.

If you were to ask my wife, she'd say the Camillus Muskrat with double turkish blades. She uses it for everything from opening packages to whittling to cleaning trout. It goes with her everywhere.

I'm with Rob19 - I've a fiddleback version of the OVB and an ironwood version.... I'm carrying and using the fiddleback (see my thread for questions regarding the blade's propensity to chip.)
I've also carried a Camillus three blade whittler (or stockman) Boy Scout knife since '75...

Buzz,
Finally, somebody who likes traditional knives. I was beginning to think that nobody carried a knife unless it had a clip on it or a kydex sheath. BTW, where have you been?

Hey now...My CUDA CQB-1 is traditional...It has a blade and a handle!.:D.

hmmmm.... don't remeber any of the Boy Scout knives having clips... and I still have mine! :D Can't get much more "traditional" than that?!?!
