I'll be staying pretty local this year. Washington state has some excellent places for camping. I have'nt been up on Mt. Rainier for awhile so I'd like to spend some time there. I'll also be spending some weekends at Riffe Lake with the boat. I love this state during the Spring and Summer time!! Can't wait to get the Becker's out and throw'em a good beatin!!

So where does everyone else like to camp when it comes to your home state? Any hidden gems you'd like to share? Pictures are always welcome and I'll put some up as soon as I can get out for a weekend. Soon I hope!!

Great thread, I'm looking forward to seeing some places the Beckerheads hang out.
We too are blessed with some great places close by, but my favorite is the Land Between the Lakes.

Gonna do some exploring of the Chattahoochee National Forest in north Georgia this year.

Big Sur and Yosemite are on my menu this year, Yosemite with the family and Big Sur with a few buddies.

It all depends on where I end up this summer (Internship hunting season right now). Right now its looking like my main camping spot will be American Fork Canyon if I stay local, or I'll have to find some good camping up in Washington (Microsoft is flying me out to interview in two weeks).

Agreed, this should be an interesting thread. I wonder how many of these places I'll be able to hit up eventually?

Planning a trip to Joshua Tree park this year. It'll be like camping on Mars, except, you know, with breathable atmosphere.

We're planning on doing a few state-park family camping trips and have a backpacking trip planned for the Nicolet National forest and maybe another 2-3 day hike in the Porcupine Mountains.

gonna hit our deer-hunting property some this year, and of course Norfork Lake at Mt. Home AR, prolly along Spring River near Mammoth Spring AR and 11-Point River near Alton MO...and I always try to hit Forsche Lake near Gatewood MO. Also wanna hit Blanchard Springs Cavern this year (in AR)

I has the jonboat hooked up to the truck right now LOL

and my cousin just bought 100 acres in MO...so soon as he closes on it i'm sure I'll be spending some time there as well. :)

I'll be camping in the Angles National Forest, specifically in Chilao. If any one knows any sweet spots in the ANF let me know because I'd like to try new spots too.

Headed to Green Ridge state forest in Western MD..... Pretty cool.... Right on the Potomac river in the mountains... Great smallmouth fishing and 200 miles of 4x4 trails.

Not sure where I might go camping. Anywhere around here withing a 2 hour drive is a campground with 300 people in it. I wish we had somewhere better around here to just go out into the woods, pick a spot to camp and have at it. Theres really not a ton of woods around here, its mostly plowed fields for miles and miles.

The snake river again this summer..going to be working a mine and then I'm off to Alaska and Florida when I'm done.
