  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

So where are YOU camping at this year?

Looks like your overlooking a golf course. Id have a hell of a time drinking beer all day in front of the fire and yelling FORE during everyones backswing....jk it only looks like a par 5 dogleg left

Used the binos..... There are a ton of deer in that field... But I have no idea how to get down there... Lol

Camping our asses off this year, all local AZ stuff. Apache Lake this month, Peppersauce Campground near Tucson and also Sedona next month, Prescott the month after, Chevelon Lake, upper West Clear Creek, and some mid-summer low desert fun sweatin' with the oldies probably somewhere out on the Apache Trail.

That'll do, for starters...

Heading over to the Buffalo National River next week for a few days of backpacking and paddling.

I'll be up in the Uintahs this weekend. I'm looking forward to it. I've spent way too much time in the city lately.

all over harriman state park in ny...my goal this year is at least an overnighter each month. i've already done three 2-nighters so far.

Can you still go spelunking in the Peppersauce Caves? I went a few times as a cub scout when I was eight, but that was in 1982, and I heard they shut the caves down since then. That was a fun time. I put my first patina on a boy scout knife in those caves, thanks to the gluey mud that stuck to every single thing on my body.

Eisenhower State park Easter weekend, someplace in Missouri a couple weeks after that, and with luck at uncle E's in May. (if the truck will stop breaking!) plus the occasional bit of time spent in the back parts of the homestead and the neighbor has 140 acres he'll let me wander so long as I don't bug the cattle. (with luck, next time I come up on one of the rattler's on his land I won't be in the middle of a job and can take the time to build a fire and grill it.)

There are still alot of people who didn't reply to this thread. Don't let it die!!

We usually go to the porcupine mountains in the MI UP, but this summer we might go to the black hills or something west of here(MN). Maybe just go north.

Since it was bumped anyhow, I'll be working either at the local (hour and a half south) Boy Scout/JROTC summer camp, or at my second oldest brother's local Boy Scout summer camp. The names of the camps are, respectively, Flaming Arrow Scout Reservation, and Camp Mattatuck. FASR (flaming arrow) is in Lake Wales if anyone's local troop has money and hasn't picked a summer camp yet, while Mattatuck is somewhere in central Connecticut.

Aside from those two places, the best place I'll be all year (actually I wen't there the day you posted this thread, that's why I didn't see it till just now) is Hell('s Bay, in the Everglades). I canoed out there 2 weekends ago with one of the local troops that I'm involved in (yes, I've been invited on 4 different troop's/crew's camp outs), and it was a blast, but the only pictures I got were of Helga and Becca, you can figure out which name goes to which knife.

*The following picture is prenaming and prestripping of Helga and Becca (still need to strip Becca)!*

around Kernville Ca up in the Sierra Nevada range. At least once but i'm going to try for a couple more overnighters in my childhood stomping grounds of the Southfork of the kern. I really want (need) to!!

Big Bend is about the only place I'm interested in camping in my state, but we might make it to Moab this coming fall.

Most people have probably seen the Citicard commercial where the girl climbs and stands on that tall pinnacle of rock. That commercial is actually filmed at 2 different places around Moab and I've been to both places. In the first shot in the commercial you can see a river and road below the people in the background. I've been on both sides of the river on different trips, to get to the far side of the river is a long 4WD road.

gonna hit our deer-hunting property some this year, and of course Norfork Lake at Mt. Home AR, prolly along Spring River near Mammoth Spring AR and 11-Point River near Alton MO...and I always try to hit Forsche Lake near Gatewood MO. Also wanna hit Blanchard Springs Cavern this year (in AR)

I has the jonboat hooked up to the truck right now LOL

and my cousin just bought 100 acres in MO...so soon as he closes on it i'm sure I'll be spending some time there as well. :)
Dude when you hit up alton let me know! I might not get to camp out with you, but I'd at least come meet you. I'm up in alton all the frickin' time for work. It's nothing for me to be out there.

I'm trying to get a group to go float on the current river. We'll see how it goes. It's hard to organize 20 deaf people to go on a float trip.
