So who can strip my Ratmandu?

DWRW looks to be KnifeGuy on the Scrapyard Forum...I am on there as Steel Fan...we both share the same views about many things and particularly the benefits of a Satin finish or a D/C finish. The RMD I did was a lucky dip one...it did'nt need any work to it...but I have just done a post in the Busse Forum about doing a SJTAC Variant and in it is a pic of my Skinny Ash which I stripped and modded...the Skinny Ash took a LOT of work as it was rough and I had'nt got a belt sander...once I got one and the necessary belts to provide a good finish things got a lot easier. In particular read my tip about using hide leather glued to the platten behind the belt to give a good soft finish on the sides of the knife and how to use it to fully convex the blade...I learnt most of what I know now from the Scrapyard Forum...there are many excellent DIY posts on there. Knife Guy and Horn Dog are particularly helpful. Good Luck with your Skinny and your RMD looks good as is....it gets better with some hard use as well.

Thanks, I already started sanding with a 60 grit sponge block. It already looks shiny. I cant wait to go to 120 grit, 220, 300 and 600!

It will look pretty darn satiny with just 120 grit. Wet the paper with WD40, a tip from the Makers forum.
