I ordered a few of the AG Russell Ultimate Pen knives to give to a few of my friends. The ones that know knives will apreciate the titaniam and VG-10 and I think the others will enjoy the mini knife for their key chain.

What about you guys? Anybody give a knife as a present?

My BIL gets his long sought after Cold Steel Peacekeeper (the discontinued Carbon V model that I tracked down for him).

My son gets a Ronin Balisong Trainer, for fun

My nephew gets a Ronin Balisong Trainer and a SAK.

Daddy wants a Black Jack Warrior (really want to check out that 3 edge grind). Daddy's gonna get a tie, a sweater and a desk calendar :(

I bought my brother a Native III from Wally World the other week, I'll be giving it to him for Christmas.

I'd like to buy a knife for my friend (and coworker) except I showed him my Native and he wasn't too impressed with the FRN handle. He already has a Leek which I bought him as a groomsman gift, maybe I'll get him an CRKT M16 instead as he previously owned one and lost it.

Brother and His Son-In-Law are getting Stockmen with Sheep Horn scales and my Nephew a Buck Mantis.

Last Christmas I gave Victorinox classics to the whole family as stocking stuffers and they were such a big hit I could have saved the rest of the presents. The family females have all become very attached to them to the degree when niece Allissa lost hers last summer she stopped at the first 'mart to get another. Most of my family are not knife people, and turn to me when they need something cut when we are out. Now they all have come to like having a small sharp cutter on hand. The little sissors were a big hit, and when they found out they now had a nail file available, that put it over the top for them. Ginshun has the right idea- the non knife people will like the small keychain knife and it's a good way to introduce the idea of carrying a knife to the sheeple in our lives.

Now nieces Allissa, Amanda, and Jennifer all have expressed an interest in regular sak's for purse carry.

I'll take any victory I can get! And it gives me a break on wondering what to get them this year.

SAk's- choice of sheeple everywhere!

I got my dad a Victorinox Swissmemory 512MB USB drive knife (really cheap on sale at CompUSA--got myself one too). It's perfect for him, since he's always going back and forth between computers at work and home with pictures and documents. Plus, he's president of Tucson's astronomy club and always needs a red light on hand for stargazing. He'd just better not lose it like he lost the Photon I gave him.

I've got several Buck 110 tins from Wally World that will make their way under the tree this year.

I got my mother 5 of the Kershaw Shun kitchen knives, really impressive stuff to use.

Your mom is going to love those. Calvin Cooledge and his wife have some and they are great!

Dad has a pretty decent collection of customs and factory knives that I started for him a few years ago:o. This year he be getting his first damascus folder that I hope he will carry.

I brought a bunch of SAK "signatures" (classic with a pen) on closeout so those will hit the streets with friends and co-workers (I know, I know but what the heck my Human Resources file is already as thick as the Bastidville phone book so what's another page or two.)b

Got my mother a custom Inupiat styled Ulu for Christmas, and got my son a knife kit. One of the framelock jobs that's pretty kiss simple, but I figure we can still make nicer wooden inserts, mirror polish them, etc.

Oh, and it wasn't intended for Christmas, but I just gave my closest friend an 18 inch HI Sirupati. Since cash is short for the family this year, we'll call it his Christmas present.

I kinda think folks who don't appreciate knives as gifts are kinda....odd...to say the least...:D

I am giving 5 so far:

Benchmade Model 555 Small Griptilian plainedge. The one with the opening hole

Buck 889 Tan G-10. This is the economy Strider folder with a plainedge and Desert Tan Handles

Spyderco D' Allara Drop Point plainedge

Spyderco Salt I plainedge

Buck small folder with Stag scales

I am still trying to come up with a folder for my Dad but undecided right now.
I should have ordered a Buck custom shop 110 for him but I waited to long. :grumpy:

I am buying my g/f a benchmade apparition. Thats what she wants, not a mnandi, not a WH, but she likes it so I buys it.

I'm still not sure what I'm going to get. Maybe a Spyderco D'Allara Drop Point for my brother-in-law and a Cricket for my dad.
