will it run more for a powder coated finish or a polished finish? i've never dealt with busse before is the only reason i ask

it costs more for a polished blade. and by that i mean satin, as mirror pollish hasn't ever been an option that i've heard of on busse's.

the reason for this is that infi is a steel that tends to have an uneven pitted surface, and needs to be ground down to be completely flat (this looks good, and also prevents area's where rust can get where you cant easily sand them out), and then has to be sanded down to satin. this just takes more time and manpower to complete.

What Seth said..

The standard coated finishes (black, grey, tan, and green) are available at the base price, while the satin and Double Cut finishes are not only more expensive, but you usually see these on the Custom and Limited Edition models.. ;)

I cant wait, I have been saving my money so I can buy one of whatever I want. This has been my dream knife for sometime now as I am sure it has been of some of yours. When I order it, I will probably order the first one for Use and another one later on for a safe queen. But I WILL have one, WILL!!!!! I have not wanted a blade so bad in a long time, My kidney be damned(I might have to sell it to get another one). Whose with me.

I just bought my first Busse and am due to receive it anytime this week. I was actually shopping for a second one when I stumbled to this thread. Now am gonna hold on to my dough just in case. Dont wanna miss out on this one and cry buckets :D

Don't worry about the time of the cost. To be honest, I will order as soon as it goes up, but I don't expect to receive the blade anytime this year. I'm betting June of 2007 before they are ready for delivery into anyone's hands, which is when Busse will charge us.

Of course, I will be happy to be proven wrong.

Won't Jerry leave the next knife up for a few months while he amasses orders?

Yeah, even if Jerry opens the site tonight, and the FBM is on there, and someone places an order that very instant, it's still going to take at least two weeks before anyone receives it in the mail.... ;)

i don't want to sound like a greedy pig but i think i might buy two...one to use and one to stash away.

Yeah, it could take anywhere from a few months, up to 6 months to a year before you see your blades...

Hold your horses. I am merely making a prediction. For all we know, I could be completely off the mark. But I ordered a HOGSJTLE in July and didn't receive it until January. The demand for the FBM is SO going to outstrip that for the SJT and I am betting that the delay will be correspondingly extended.

Again, I'll be happy to be proven wrong.

If I remember right, I ordered the first week when the HOFSH's were offered and it took around 10 or 11 months for mine to get here. I think most everyone got theirs before me, so maybe mine just got finished up last. But that being said, when the SJTac came out, I ordered a month or two after being up for sale and I think I was one of the first to get my SJTacs. I think I waited 3 months or so for the SJTacs. Even though the FBM is still not up yet, many of us have been WAITING since the first sightings and pictures of the FBM at the Blade Show back in '02 or '03, whichever year it was. Back then all the Ergo's were still readily available from the factory and I think the most I waited for an Ergo was 3 weeks:eek::yawn:

My latest Busse, a 'Ganzaa Desert Mud Razor, took exactly 27 days from the day that I called Amy on the phone.. Just to give an example. ;)

Thanks. Guess that means ill have time to save for it. Which means too that I have some ready cash to get another Busse :D Hmmmm wonder what itll be. Maybe a FSH or something smaller to complement my SJT :o

well 12am has come and gone and still no FBM....thought for sure that he was going to unveil it at midnight tonight.
