Me too!

Here is the late, great Meepers; RIP. She was with me since maybe 1994, and just passed this past fall, a few weeks before the Easton show.

I'll miss her forever!

AND HERE is my current pal, Frank. Laziest, softest cat ever. So calm, and trusting.. lol

Let's your feline companions!

I do love cats. However, when I pet my cat Steve, it's like reaching into a bear trap.

He's a Manx.

I love cats, always have. Here is my baby girl Toado. She's a British Shorthair. She lives in Washington State now, but she's a California Girl at heart....

my friend had a female named Larry...
That's awesome! I have the name Floyd in reserve (Brad Pitt's Character in True Romance).

Also had a Greyhound named George. My Doberman's name is Elvis (my wife loves Elvis Presley).

I know I'm not very original with pet names.

I had so many cow dogs when I was a kid that it became too hard to come up with new dog names. I actually had a dog named Hey (as in hey, you), and some others not appropriate for this forum.

To stay on topic, I had a cat named Kitty. I actually saw him catch a crow in mid flight, and he ate it. He would dig up crawfish out of the yard and eat everything but the pincers. He nearly killed me when I tried to take a tree squirrel head away from him. I think if he and a coyote squared off, Kitty would've won.

Edit: I say Kitty caught the crow in mid flight, but the crow was swooping down and smacking Kitty on the head for a few minutes trying to drive him away from a nest and Kitty waited patiently for the perfect moment. He ate MOST of it. I know this sound a bit fantastic.

As most of you know, I lost Sydney in mid-November immediately following the Easton show. I never did know how old she was since she was adopted from a shelter where she would not stop reaching out through her cage and catching my sleeves with her claws while pleading to me with her eyes to get her the heck out of there, but it's safe to say that she was no older than 8 years when the only thing that she could not escape was the highly aggressive type of cancer that killed her. I enjoyed her companionship for a little over 6 years, and I don't believe that I have met a more intelligent cat who was also a brilliant escape artist (her favorite hobby!) and great friend. She's still missed very much by my other 3 cats who were adopted from the same shelter at the same time, and of course by me... :( It is amazing how certain souls can leave such a large imprint on one's life, and such a large hole in one's heart once gone.

RIP, Sydney B. , AKA "Syd".

My other buddies are all siblings from a litter of 3 and even though they are, it's amazing how different they can be. All are great companions also, and will hopefully be around for many more years to come. :) Too bad that they're a little more camera-shy than Syd was. I need to get more recent pix of 'em that are actually in focus, LOL.

I had a cousin that had a Manx, which I thought was a really feisty feline, until my other cousin got a snow lynx. 75 pounds of sneaky death, that one was!!!!

I had two really great cats growing up. Bunny was a soft black and white rag, who would plop down and fall asleep anywhere. He also loved baths, and was very hard to keep out of the shower......trust me, wet cat in the shower = hairy legs. We adopted him. One night in the winter while we were watching a scary movie as a family, we heard this thump and horrible screeching scratching sound coming from the back door, and when we looked out the back window, there were these two green eyes floating in the dark at about 5 feet off the ground. He had jumped up and was hanging from the window on the door looking in.

My other favorite cat was the product of a stray alley cat, bred with a mutant stray alley cat. We named him big foot, because he had big white paws that had two extra toes on both front feet. They were almost like opposeable thumbs. He was yellow and orange striped with white feet, long haired, and 15-16 pounds (vet weight), and he was about as attack happy as a pit bull. Lots of bites and scratches from him (play for the most part, but still he did bite clear through my dad's hand while playing). Bigfoot lasted 17 years, and was feisty till the very end.

I don't have any digital pics to upload.

My brother had a lynx! I don't know how he got it in rural central California, but he did. That thing was like a lion!

Probably would've been less trouble to get a bobcat or even a mountain lion since we had those nearby.

I like cats, but I LOVE dogs. I have both and they get along to an extent. The youngest cat and dog are even buddies. The eldest cat hates the dog though. I think perhaps I'm just a domesticated animal lover. Dogs are more social though and that I find satisfying.

Not to hijack, but I'm afraid of where this thread will go when Guyon, Horton and TonyG pop in.

Sorry to hear about your loss. I have 2 old cats, Tito and Buddy Love. I hope they live forever!

I'm more of a dog person than a cat person, but I like both - so much so that I've got 3 dogs and 2 cats. I don't have any pictures handy, except the one up there in my avatar.

That's one of my cats. His name is Five. My cat is named Five...

Cat 5.

If you are a computer geek, you are groaning right about now :D

I hadn't had a cat in 15 years untill someone threw one out at the barn about 7 years ago.

Took that one in, and can't belive I went so long without one. It never meows, and is very mellow. Great pet!

BTW- Very Sorry to hear about the lose of your cat.

We have two cats... both are rescue kitties, and supposedly siblings.

Here's Tiberius... AKA Booda (about 23 lbs... and a GREAT mouser)

And here's Tabitha... AKA Lil' Girl (she really likes to announce her presence with a BIG MEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

We were only going to adopt one that day... but she climbed up in my lap and let me know all about how she needed to come home too.
Definitely one of the most affectionate cats I've met. I think her lil' flame nose is pretty cool. :D
