So you like Ctek & Southards?!

Ask and you shall receive! Updated first post with a Red ctek/LSCF combo
And Actually I have a guy that ordered a red ctek bolster with lscf handle for a Domino. I'm about to start on it in the next couple weeks.

That looks so, so nice. Jeez.
Pretty much exactly what I had in mind, but maybe I'd reverse the colors on bolster and handle, and it'd be for a black Southard...

I'll let you know when the funds are available Shepard, either on here or Facebook. If the BBS Blue Domino sells out any time soon, I'll be picking up a black Southard and hitting you up for scales :)
Keep me posted on those Domino scales, I'm interested how they turn out...

Thank you! Sounds good.

I'm actually making that combo for a black southard! lol

Evilgreg Yea I like the smaller cell too That Orange black ctek small cell in the first pic with the spyder ski gear is mine ;) ...but the larger cell has a more even honeycomb. The small seems to be uneven in some spots. Ive noticed this from multiply suppliers as well.

Rasco I just added some new pics of some I just finished and I think one of them is in the combo you wanted ;)

These look great, very nice indeed.

I really like the smaller cell size C-Tek, this one that Steve did for me is one of my most carried Southards:

That red and black one (the one that is C-Tek on both) is dead sexy, I want it. :)

wow. sick knife, sick scales, sick photo. this is some next level stuff on this thread, excellent work ShepardCC. someday I'll get a Spydie pimped out in small C-Tek ...

Eric does some great work for sure, that was one of mine though. Credit to evilgreg for the picture. I found that the large cell ctek goes perfectly with snake skin juma:

spketch, my apologies ! did not realize both of you had work featured on this thread. you both do amazing stuff!

Very nice looking work indeed!

Question about the C-Tek. Is it a brittle type material or no? Curious for example if you drop it on the concrete if it'd knock a hunk off or if it's pretty tough.

Joe-
I wouldn't describe it as brittle, but a drop on cement can cause damage. According to the manufacturer it's basically dyed epoxy over an aluminum mesh.
The large cell ctek is more likely to chip on the outside edge where the cells are incomplete, especially when thin. This can be mitigated by gluing to a liner.

In my very unscientific testing, I threw a few pieces (3mm thick) at my cement shop floor. It took several fairly hard throws to break each one. Keep in mind though the impact force will be greater with the weight of a knife attached.

I don't recommend the material for a hard use knife, but it's plenty strong for an edc knife. If you see how stunning it looks in person you probably wouldn't want to use it hard anyway.

Ctek is more resin than anything else. It's more for show and light edc. If you drop it or smack it on something it will crack/chip/break.
But there's no denying it's beautiful stuff ;)
