Hey guys! Im getting back from school and will be spending a LOT of time in my shop, both milling up wood and grinding new blades. When I was just starting out, Laurence Segal showed me some techniques and really sped up my learning curve, so I would like to pay some of it back. I may not be a master smith or knife maker, but I have a full forge, anvil and belt grinder, decent understanding of metal chemistry and can of course help with any wood related issues. If anyone else in the Socal area would like to see my set up and talk blades, leave a post!

A little side note, if you are a not a well known member of the forum, with an established name, i may ask to see an I.D when you visit the shop. I do have to protect myself as well.

I'm also home for break a week from now 'till Jan 10th, and my family has a house in North Hollywood, so I'd definitely be interested!

when are you thinking Ben? what dates?
also are you aware there is a Cal Knives club here in SoCal?
in fact there is a Hammer In this Sat in West LA at a member's shop at 9 am

I'm in South Orange Couny.. also a member of CalKnives. In fact, I'll be hosting the April club meeting at my "shop". Non members welcome. if you want to attend one of the meetings hit me up and I'll supply the info. they are monthly and usually take place in the LA and Orange Counties on a Saturday.

I'm new to knife making and in the Southern California Area... if people are willing to help out, I'd gladly take an excuse to get out of the desert to go learn something.

I'll stop by if the date works out and I do have ID. Also, what's the parking situation like?

I'm interested in any type of hammer in event or smithing class.

I have an incredibly flexible schedule now so any time works for me.

Jeff Mutz at Tru-grit in Ontario is an awesome guy to work with as well. He's usually in the shop and he's always willing to talk and share what he knows. Great guys to deal with but beware, you WILL spend money if you wander around the shop for any lenght of time.
