• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

SoCal members, didja feel it?

It was pretty good here - a bit of shaking, then the major hit, and then some long, slow rocking.

Overall, not too bad. It could have been much worse!

So you guys say it felt sort of big :foot: .... we are talking about an earthquake lol....

I was on a waterbed during the '94 quake and it threw me out of bed on a wave, lol. Odd way to be woken up at 4 in the morning!

I was stationed at Camp Pendleton for the '94 quake. That really was an odd way to be woken up at 4 in the morning, especially for a dumb country kid from WI. I thought maybe my room mate came back drunk and was playing a prank. Joke was on me I guess! :p -Matt-

Quote on TV from some blond chic who just moved to California, "I moved to California from Illinois because I was afraid of tornadoes"

I was doing the first walk in my new knee brace. I thought that it was just me. When the Teck. said "d'you feel the quake" I was kind of relieved.

Yup, felt it all right.
Me and the boss were sitting at a restaurant in West Hollywood.
Lots of nice rolling action and street lights swaying and such.
It's easy to tell the people who are not originally from CA! Half of the people in my office were out the door before I even realized we were having one, lol. But yeah, they are always pretty exciting. No damage or anything for me thankfully. Looks like overall it will be minor damage and no injuries.

My first Cali quake! pretty mild. They evacuated my girlfriends building via
stairs only to have them immediately go back up via elevator. What was the point
of that? 2 places you don't want to be in a quake... stairs and elevators and she was
in both within a few minutes of it. sheeple!
Seems to me that this would be an apropos time to get people on the right track concerning earthquake survival, specifically the "feet don't fail me now" panic induced reaction to run out the door.
A little education goes a long way.
