Hello, Well it seems that I am becoming madly addicted to Emerson's... I will share a story and some pictures later, but right now I have a question regarding the SOCFK (A very sweet knife).

Are these numbers correct:

100 Black-T Spear point
200 Black-T Tanto
50 Green-T Tanto

Are those numbers correct? I know that there were some over run production, but are those approximately correct? Were there any others made? Was there a green spear point blade ever made?

Also for my more main question:

If I remember correctly, Emerson has a one year contract with Extreme Outfitters, does that mean that after the year is up that The SOCFK will available through Emerson knives? What options will be available? Blade finish? Handle color? Plain/serrated? Or will Emerson not make them any more? I see that there is a picture of a Damascus SOCFK on the new web page, are these available? (If yes what options are on them... I don't think it says on their web page)

Sorry for all the questions, I am just trying to find some info. out.... man I am so addicted ... sometimes I am glad that I cant afford customs, then I start to tear up... LOL

Thanks for the help,

Let's see.... I'm not sure about the production numbers. I know there were 50 green-T blades (I've got #35

). As for the rest, no clue.

Don't know about the spear point - in fact, I thought they were all tanto...

As for the contract with E.O., I would assume once the "exclusivity" is up, both E.O. and Ernie would sell it (and probably lots of other dealers as well). I would think he'd continue to produce it, as it's pretty popular. I'd say "custom" modifications would run along the lines of his other knives - bolsters, damascus, liner anodizing, plain or combo edge (personally, I'm hoping for this one... I LOVE my SOCFK, but a plain edge would get me drooling all over again.

), and hard chrome or black-T finish (I guess the green-T was a limited thing, and once the blade finisher - Walter Birdsong? - runs out of it, that's it.)

HTH
