*Link Removed Due to Malware Alerts* (Sorry about this, it may be because of DNS issues. www.urbanconquest.com.au is a different website than I posted before, hopefully it doesn't have any issues!)
In Australia we have to pay ridiculous amounts for our favourite knives.
Look at the website above and tell me, would you be willing to spend that much on your favourite knife? Would it still be worth it?

Thanks,
Jasper.

Christ, no I would not.

However the prices in many stores here are almost as inflated (I'm looking at you, House of Knives). Fortunately, unlike Australia, I can just buy them online for half the price... I don't understand how your Customs can stop imports of all one-hand openers when they aren't prohibited to sell in Australia.

You need a permit for one hand openers/flippers/assisted knives.
It sucks.
It's kind of a weird situation though, because I am admittedly about to overpay lots and lots for a flipper, but it feels special for that reason (same like buying a Sebenza vs Bradley Alias 2. The sebenza will always *feel* better because it costs more)

I sure wouldn't like it, $260US for a Gayle Bradley, or $155US for a standard mini grip is pretty steep (especially when I just paid $145 for a Ritter mini in m4)...but boy do I love knives...so...yes, probably. Why are knives so expensive in Australia?

I like how the Becker knives are still the same cheap price.

Actually your fixed blades aren't all that more expensive.

How do you go about to get the permit?

Not sure. If you're in Australia and interested you could contact your local police or customs.

I personally don't want one. You don't need the permit to own one, just to import them which I would assume is a lot of paperwork each time you try to get one in.

If I wouldn't have any other options, I would still buy my favorite knives, but I would have just very few. Probably I would be buying one every year as a birthday gift to myself

I feel your pain. We pay alot for knives here in Germany as well, it' s horrible:(
The only upside of living here(Speaking of knives only of course:D) is that we get German and other European knives for nice prices.

My anti-virus detected a threat on that site....
