Hay Everyone.

I am interested what you think of the 3 as a Comparison?
I once had A production Socom Delta Tanto that I had to sell, I miss it as it had an excellent detente, deployment and the dual thumb studs works vary well as I am A Lefty.

Is there any real functional deference between them? I like the hardware Layout and Grind of the Delta and EOD more then the Bravo but I think the Liner of the Bravo goes all the way through the knife.

I see the EOD has A Ti blade witch makes it vary light but how does it hold up compared to the blade of the other two?

I would like to find an All Ti Delta with blue hardware, but those are fare and few, so I am comparing the CF versions

Thanks!

The EOD's thumb stud hits titanium, which should be reason enough not to buy one.

Of the three I think the Bravo offers the most.

I honestly have no idea what the Bravo and EOD are. I googled them both and they showed a complete Hodge podge of different knife images. So maybe that is why no one is answering?? Maybe you could post some pics of them.

Otherwise, maybe people don't want to feel stupid talking about the wrong knife?? No fear here tho, I was born that way.

So with my incredibly limited knowledge, I would have to answer that you get a new Socom Delta. I am personally really excited to see it come back to the market now in 2015.
I own a 2012 G-10, a 2013 Aluminum and a 2014 Marfione Carbon Fiber handle Socom Delta (seen in my avatar).

You certainly cannot go wrong with a Socom. They simply have "magic" in them. My only complaint is that the pocket clip is too low on the handle and makes it stick out a little from your pocket. That was cool in 2012, but for 2015 I now like a more concealed look..

Or.. you could buy a Strider SMF. Clinto's surprise option # 4 for you. Don't know what your budget is.. But notice the SMF is on top in my avatar. Top for a reason..
Both are built to be passed down to your great, great grand children. But the SMF is beefier and a bit more solid. On the other hand, the Socom is super awesome and both sides of the handles match, due to Microtech's proprietary titanium lock bar. If I had to pick between the standard SMF and the standard Socom, it would be the Strider SMF hands down, no questions asked. It is THAT good. Of course all that goodness costs $200 more than the Socom's $330 price tag. And if all I had was $330 bucks in my budget, I'd get the Socom and I would be darn happy to "settle" for it too.

So there you go. Clinto's 2 cents.

Thanks Clinto

I was planing on a Strider as well :)

I see the CF Socom Delta has dropped alot in Price.
it's eather that one or the Bravo witch is over 1k in price.

I will Try to post some pics if the Knives in Question.
Both the Bravo and EOD have been Seen on AZCK and I have a seen the Delta For Sale here on the Forum.

Here are some links to the Socom's I am referring to:

Socom Delta CF or Ti(hard to find), 2 tone Blade. Mirror or Satin, has that attractive Cutout grove on blade. Seeing them on the market now for under $1000 here on the forum.
http://www.bladehq.com/item--Microtech-Marfione-Custom-Socom--13473

Socom Bravo CF, has A Stonewashed or Mirror blade. No Cutout grove on blade like the Delta, Going for $1300-$1600
http://www.arizonacustomknives.com/...n-fiber-by-marfione-custom-knives-158749.aspx

Socom EOD CF, Ti Flamed Blade. Grind and hardware placement is like the Delta. Seam to be on the market for around $1600

Well... if you have "that" kind of budget.. Then let me give a bit more feedback. One of my favorite dealers is The Hollow Grind. Dave, the owner is a prominent member here at BladeForums and he is a super awesome guy. He has helped me with service issues with my Microtech which was huge..

I honestly cannot recommend thehollowgrind.com enough. I have to "rave" about it!

The full carbon fiber Socom Delta is a full "Benjamin" cheaper at thehollowgrind.com and I pictured it here.

Plus they also have the Bravo here:

But honestly.. If I can live my Custom Marfione life vicariously though you.. Then I would get Clinto's Option # 5 right here. This thing makes my parts down low feel funny..
I think this particular knife, the Anax possibly "one up's" the Socom because the pocket clip is way better. It has a ball bearing that let's it slip right onto your pocket without causing tearing. And... It's also a deep riding/conceal carry type of clip too, which I much prefer.

I agree with phillyray .. The Socom Bravo is a solid knife. It has a strong detent and it has a nice feel to it. I think the all carbon ones are nice but lack the feel I need to have when I drop that kind of coin on a knife. But some guys love that super light thing so if light is what your after then the custom delta is probably your best bet . For a pure user a production delta or elite can fill the bill !

Hey Gus!

Phillyray, & Clinto, have both given you excellent suggestions. Quoting Clinto: "Well... if you have "that" kind of budget.."

I too, would suggest one of Microtech's Marfioni Customs. I recently acquired a Socom Delta Clip Point from a fellow BF member, & the fit & finish on this knife, is amazing! BTW- as Marko stated: the 30K CF scales on Marfioni's customs, make them extremely light weight.

Best of luck!

That thing looks awesome Kelama! Beautiful, yet tough and a hint of anger is what I see. And I like it!

Marfione makes some amazing blades..

I once had a socom delta and it was a pretty sweet knife.

What are your intentions for this knife? Collection piece, or to show friends, etc? Then the EOD is probably the coolest looking.

If it is for EDC tasks you don't want a Ti blade. It will not hold up like steel at all. So I'd go with the stonewashed socom D

Damn it Leftytwoguns, you are right.

Mine is a titanium blade. I love it. It does indeed hold an edge quite well in my display case and in my pocket and does minimal cutting. But would I prefer Ti metal for "regular usage"? Absolutely not.. I would much prefer Microtech's sweet Elmax blade.

I would give the Ti blade a "seat of my pants" RC hardness of around 55, and I think that's pretty good.. I've had Chinese knives that are much softer metal than this Ti blade and have a much worse edge.
But with that Elmax being at around 60 or 61 RC, it really holds an amazing edge.

Vary nice!

Marfione does amazing work with those 2 Tone and Tri tone blades, the clip point is interested, I my self plan on a tanto.

I seam to be going in the direct of the Bravo. It's the lowest priced and like the ti bolster and Stonewash on them.

Just a matter of funds and time till I can get one.

@Clinto yeah man, I've had two Strider customs with Ti blades. While amazingly sweet looking, light weight and rust free they weren't the best
for EDC cutting in my experience. Now, one of them had the carbide edge which significantly improved it's cutting ability, but I'd still take a great
steel any day. The Ti blade with out the carbide edge was more of a collection piece in my opinion.

So based on my experiences with those two titanium blades I probably wouldn't chose it for an EDC. If you want it for a collection piece that's all good.

Very Interesting Leftytwogunz.. Your Strider collection is something to behold as I have seen around here. And honestly I see a lot of similarities between Strider and Microtech. Your Ti Strider's sound just like my Ti Microtech. Except that carbide sounds a little extra special. Very Cool..

Thanks man. Never hurts to try new things. Well on second thought, it can hurt the wallet, but I found that Ti blades just don't fit my needs really.
I like the premise of them, rust free, light, able to be flamed, etc. But I really only want to carry one folder of (SMF) size and I need it to do more
than just look pretty.
Take care.
