SOCOM Question

I just got a 98' SOCOM from a forumite, and have question. The box says Silver as the coating type. I was thinkng it was Bead Blast, but it looks nothing like the finish on by Bead Blast LCC. Waht is it? Is it corrosion resistant?

Hopefully one of the MT experts can jump in on this one, but in the meantime, I believe MT had a silver nitride coating that was available for a period of time.
