I have been carrying mine in my waistband for a while now, and I love the new clip for carrying it there. I love the fact that I can carry it there and it is not noticeable at all while being a great self-defense option. I also carry an EDC blade as well on most days. Today is my Benchmade 943, which goes great next to the SOCP folder as they have slightly similar aesthetics despite being very different knives.

I'm very attracted to this design and I do wonder why it has become so unavailable, with some websites listing it as "discontinued". I'm curious to find out why this happened so quickly. I've owned various Benchmades for nearly twenty years and, no matter the price, each one has been well designed and well built. What happened?

Just a guess but I imagine it was too similar to the Benchmade Fact which came out around the same time.

The previously noted similarity to an Ek knife was one of the attraction points for me. I had some reservations as to how acute the edge could be, given its apparent bayonet-style grind.

I for one am very interested to see what happens to improve the design. Honestly think it was great the way it was, tho many hated on it. Any chance you could say when the improved version will be released?

I was just thinking about this. Nothing heard since Feb on this topic. They are going for stupid money on eBay. I’m still wondering if it will be an axis lock. Or a smaller version. I love the current model except the clip.
