After winning the beer bowie from Rotte, I've been thinking about what I could do for folks around here. You guys are hands down some of the most generous folks I've encountered anywhere.

I'm working on putting together some items for a giveaway, but for now I thought I'd offer this:

If anyone wants to try out a soda can stove, I'll send you one. Just email me your name and address at bkduckworth@hotmail.com. I'm going to limit this to 10 for now just so it doesn't get out of hand. You'll have to come up with a pot stand and windscreen.

I already have a couple soda can stoves, so – Let me just say: Thanks for doing this.

No problem, I've given many away to family who thought they were "neat", but will probably never use them. At least these will go to interested folk.

I will say that mine probably aren't the most efficient design and they never do turn out quite as pretty as the ones you see on web sites, but they always work well.

Email sent.

Thank you, bkduckworth. This is a very generous giveaway. I've always wanted to try one of these out, and now's my chance. Pretty doesn't matter, especially on a "freebie."

I already use a couple myself and haven't had the need to ever look back. I hope you get more people to use these great devices.

Just use denatured alcohol from hardware stores and your stove will burn clean & hot.

One of those and a large Heineken can and you have a fine ultralight stove setup.

If anyone would like endless amounts of info about soda can stoves, as wel as how to make all diffrent kinds, check out zenstoves.net

Alright, I've got ten folks. I'll send the first six out today and try to get the next four out by Monday. I'll send you emails when they go out.

Are there any websites that have instructions on how to build one of these stoves?

Look at the wilderness stickies. Lots of info. The Heineken stoves work well and you can make big ones out of the 24 oz. cans.--I use grain alcohol in mine. a little more expensive but dual purpose;)--KV
