Did you mean soda blaster? I have seen a sand blaster using baking soda as the blast media, but this was not on steel. Hmmm...interesting. I wonder if it's hard enough to do anything.

First off i must learn to spell. this is a blast system to take paint off, works great and looks like new wood , metal without leaving marks.
back here it cost $160.00 per hour , but the guy here is a friend, so i will catch him doing a job and let him do one out of ht.

soda....sand....blaser....blaster.....what the hell's the difference???

in my uneducated opinion since baking soda is not as coarse as sand, the finish might be more polished, but maybe still cloudy compared to the "rougher" sand blasted look. Since the stuff removes less (if any) metal than the sand you might have to do more prep with paper to get rid of scratches. But then again I am only thinking out loud here, so maybe I am slightly mistaken...???

Well, OK what is the difference:grumpy::o:confused:? Is sodium bicarbonate blown via compressed air enough to make a finish on steel??

guys i was just asking in hopes to get some feed back.
But i'll find out when he goes to another job, and get one done after ht
cant hirt it s going to be free anyway

Some dentists use a soda blasting machine to clean your teeth. It leaves a funny taste in your mouth. The machines have a high "rip-off factor", like most other medical equipment.
