Nice I have changed my cleaning ways since this post. I know use a different oil, different cleaning stick, and all but it still works good.

But in truth, and as mentioned, it could be that there is a bit of debris from manufacture in there still

One way to clean it is to use the air hose at a gas station

Or the one in your garage. ;):cool::thumbup:

People always steal the nozzle at the gas station. Nothing is sacred anymore.
 
I have cleaned a friend's soddie some time back
gave it a good cleaning and light oiling afterwards, really needed to get the gunk out
smooth as hell now

Next time it gets gritty,flood the pivot area with Dawn dish soap(none other works as well,dont know why)and work the blade open and closed under a stream of HOT water.Sodbusters are cheap,but they are well built knives with tight, polished smooth tolerances in that pivot.If it were a burr,you would feel it all the time.You can try to squeeze or peen the rivet to tighten up the blade.
