Softer detent on the ZT 0450CF ZDP-189 ?

My ZTs from 2013 had distinctly softer detents compared to later years. The first stronger detent was on 0801CF in Spring 2014. The 2015 detents were exceptionally strong and perhaps too much so. In 2016 we're seeing a "happy" medium-strong.

My 0450 from early 2015 had a strong detent and took a while to get smooth. My 0450CF, 0450SIG and 0450CFZDP from this year have a nice medium-strong detent and they all fire reliably without opening half way.

There's also a small amount of variability in detent and flipper action from one sample to the next.

When you are trying to be competitive in the marketplace and be a leader, you have to be able to hit certain price points. When Shirogorov can build a $180 flipper with precision detents, then you will have a point.

Pffff. Don't think so. We hold all knives to the same standard regardless of price! I demand perfection. Perfectly tuned detent, customized to my fingers right out da box!

But hey, at least the 0450 is actually S35Vn...
