Hi guys,
What vintage is this ?
I can find no Ref. to the scabbard config. 1st version ? 2nd version ?
Thanx for help.

Mister Moon

Can not be of any help.
But that is a pretty unique scabbard setup
with a detachable belt loop attachment.
Seems to be kosher factory made.
I can only speculate that it must either be
A special order or a prototype.
As i have never seen this, ever.

I am in the same boat as others. I have always assumed that the nylon(cordura?) sheaths preceded the
synthetic ones, of which there are several versions unto themselves with the last one being the "line cutter
groove" version. But all the nylon sheaths I've seen were simple loops and did not have the "valox" type
quick release mechanism.

That is the second version of the nylon sheath before they went to kydex.

I received some information about the SOG 2000.
For us, the collectors, it would have been interesting to know the exact number of model available for Navy SEAL's during their contract.

The reply of the maker :

I took a second look at this and it is actually the Seal 2000. There was a Kydex sheath with the cutting groove in it that was made for this item specifically. There was a nylon sheath as well that was made for it some time ago. As for the second question I am not sure that there was a specified number that were made as far as serialization but I can try and find out just how many were made in its lifetime. There is excellent information on the website I have listed below.

please let me know if you have any questions. And my apologies for the error.

Thank you,

Again, thanks guys for your contribution to a better knowledge of what is in their generality, knives and martial art.

One of my Seal 2000s has the same sheath.
