I had the same thing happen with my switchpliers but the standard sog powerlock is the finest multi tool i have ever owned and I have had the same one for 3 years edc and through a deployment.

Good to know maybe ill give them a try again. My current 2 favorite multi tools are my charge xti and my 6 year old gerber 800 which is nice because all the tools open with the pliers closed even though i know most of you guys in here hate the gerbers. I agree that the quality has gone down in recent years but this tool was from when they still were fairly descent quality.
