Sog arc lock

My SOG Trident developed play from cutting fruit (pineapples, watermelons). I was sorely dejected, didn't bother sending it in as well....just moved on to something else.

The SOG Trident is the most overpriced knife I have ever had the mispleasure of handling. That is at most a $15 knife. A buddy of mine had one which he had recently found (he has moved on to the Kershaw blur) and let me sharpen for him. It felt like a toy, not a knife. Didn't take that good of an edge, either.

The lower end, mainly assisted Sog's get a lot of criticism and I have to say much of it is deserved. I don't own or want any of those models either. They do have a few 'gems" though and the Arc Lock folders and some of the fixed blades are top notch and hold their own.

I think it's to bad though that they do make some less then desirable knives. It taints the rest of the company, and detracts from some of the really good knives they make. Really is a shame.

I should add that I had several Aegis Tanto models at one point because I got them on sale. I have to say they never developed any blade play or other issues and seemed well made or decent enough. However, I gave them away so I can't really say I ever subjected them to any real or hard use. The people I gave them to as gifts so far have given good feedback though.

The Black SOG Access Card keeps calling out to me, though. If I come across an extra $60, I might have to pick one up.

$15 seems a bit harsh but yeah its not a bad knife just has QC issues. However, I'd trade one for a Blur in a heartbeat.
