The SOG's DOGs currently have four contests running--although no one has yet entered..probably because I posted it in our "R&D thread"...ugh...*Smacks self....hard)

That's what I mean. The contests gotta be out where people can see them. They need their own thread.

Could be a seperate thread for each contest might be a good idea. Possibly keep things from getting confusing, assuming there is some interest in them....so far I haven't seen much reaction. But maybe folks are out there busily making fires and shaving things. :D

I'm gonna say this and I may be out of line for doing it. I know a couple of you folks have put quite a bit of time into creating SOG's DOG's so I'm not trying to minimize any work you may have done.

1) Rank or titles isn't going to get it done. People don't get excited about that stuff. Prizes are where it's at. I get that SOG Specialty knives isn't kicking stuff down yet. But a shirt or hat or small knife would go a long way toward creating energy and excitement.
2) 4 contests at one time is a bunch, I'd recommend 1 at a time. Then you won't be struggling for ideas down the road.

Where I got my start here on these forums is Becker Knife and Tool. They are very advanced in their thought processes for contesting and clubs.

I'm not trying to recruit BeckerHeads either, that's not how it works. I put this up here on this subforum so the wheel would not have to be re-invented.

Not at all. Constructive comments are always welcome.

The amount of time creating it was fairly minimal...maybe too minimal. :D
B2D has put a lot of work into getting things rolling.

Yep yep yep! I'm pretty dedicated to SOG's DOGs! I will do my absolute best to keep the ball rolling! We just need more momentum is all..hmmmmmmmm...*thinking*....

History of SOG's DOGs..*Slow, dramatic music begins to play*...

It all started with an idea.."All the other knife manufacturers have clubs..why not SOG? They're great!"..then came a post on the forum...A reply..then..the NUDGE!
"Why don't you start a movement, B2D?" said the one whom is now SOG DOG 2.. "Maybe I will.." replied DOG 1.. "Maybe I will.." Then....it hit him right in the face! POW!
SOG's products are great! They need, NO DESERVE a fan-club, and a loyal one at that..what is more loyal.....than a DOG? It began as unofficial..with more & more applicants
coming in by the day..young old, men & women alike! Together they began to form a small but happy & loyal pack of fans..the SOG's DOGs..It began to grow..it began to draw
the notice of SOG itself.. Soon, the pack's head-dog recieved a message..A VIP from SOG itself..uh-oh..would there be trouble..or would the idea be realized & taken on? A phone
call was made tentatively, hesitantly..but the two people, the head dog & the VIP, pleasantly exchanged words & it proved to be not only a fun but positive & constructive conversation..
the SOG's DOGs were given the blessing..& the tentative hint that there could be more in store.. More applicants have come & the pack has since grown considerably.. No one knows what
lies in store for the SOG's DOGs..but the pack knows it's founder & head remains dedicated to their pack & cause..& that more..more will come to join the pack..

Yes, I agree, I have put a lot of work & time into SOG's DOGs..I hope it has been noticed by SOG itself. I'm here everyday, replying to posts, issuing numbers, trying to draw more attention,
& generally keep everything together. :D I'm doing all I can do but I won't give up on it. :D

Well, I'm here for the long term.. My son made a walking stick for his grandfather yesterday. I should have kept the shavings. He used a BK7 to shape the stick, then a SOG Seal Pup to finish it. That would have counted...

That's cool! Glad you're with us for the long-term PeteG. SOG's DOGs..is very important to me, I do take it seriously. I really do. I wish we had our own forum though..that'd be great..n' maybe a website..yeah..& contests..& giveaways..LOL..I WISH we could have a lot of things! Sog's Dog's is really very important to me, & I'm in it till the end. I won't give up on or abandon SOG's DOGs--you're all stuck with me..LOL..you're stuck with me too, SOG, how you like them apples? I have to have my daughter take some pic's of my scuba demo's and my SBR/80(recon scout), and post them here. They were made in japan, and I love the look and feel of those. I especially love the lines and Gun Blueing on the recon scout. They have come out with the same models recently, but made in taiwan, and with black tini blades and kraton handles. Does anyone have one? If so I would love to hear an opinion on them. All in all I probably have 20 knives from sog, and I like them. Although they don't get a lot of love here on blade forum's.. My tiger striped seal pup has been with many times camping, hunting, hiking etc..
 
I bet those are valuable to collectors--you should look into that! :) (I bet the other DOG's
are reading & saying...B2D..we are going to KILL you..LOL!--gotta catch me first!! :P)

I only drink..like..uh........10 glasses of green tea a day..maybe more... :) I need more though....lots more green tea!
