The Recon Damascus Bowie is probably the most rare SOG knife in existence. The limited amount of information available on the knife reveals that a prototype was unveiled at the SHOT Show in 2001 and 20 preorders were taken. There’s a couple of old threads here on blade forums that SOG talks about its release and that none made it to a SOG catalog or any retailers all 20 were prepurchased, Hence the rarity of this knife is unprecedented. There are only two websites I’ve found that have any good information on this knife (only SOG) It has been in a safe for 99% of its life, never sharpened, never used, lightly handled, never been in its original scabbard and is truly 100% mint condition. This is #5 of 20, I have only seen pictures of two more #17 and #10.
