Yeah. Dropping it is the only way it has opened when I didn't want it to, and that isn't even all the time. I think it might have something to do with how it lands and how hard, but you don't have to worry about it opening in your pocket. I don't even use the safety.
I don't carry either because my tastes have changed over the years (Vic Camper & a Boker pen knife in my pocket right now) but I found both were better than alot of people give them credit for. I did some stupid things with the CRKT and it held up pretty well. The SOG has one of the best blade shapes I've ever carried in a one-hander (flat ground drop point around .10" thick). Either will serve you well so long as you don't use them as pry bars or splitting wedges. Shop around for the best price.
The SOG is an AO vs the M-16 but I like the blade design better on the SOG. My M-16 handles leaves me wanting as well as it's blade design. I have one of the first ones and it's liner shows rust, but thats my fault.
