Nor does the Zytel Flash. But I've never had a single complaint about the Zytel. I've never had it crack, chip, or even flex for that matter. I suppose ultimately, no it's not as strong as a steel liner, but in most situations that you would use a folder in on a day to day basis, the Zytel is plenty sturdy enough.
All of the folders with the arc-locks are going to have the steel liners. The arc-lock wouldn't work otherwise. The steel from the arc-lock goes against the steel of the blade and the liner. The SAT knives vary, but are mostly going to be the zytel. I would like to recommend the new Vulcan, it is a very thick knife and is VG-10 stainless steel, this is above the 154cm and ATS-34 range. This knife has worked great and has held its own against everything that I have put it up to. If you question the durability of the zytel handles, there is a thread called the 'unstoppable flash' this pretty much covers the durability of the flash II. Hope this helps, J.
