If you buy the higher end SOG folders they are great, I own both the Vulcan and Mini Vulcan, both are solid as any I have handled in their price range. I have handled the Pentagon and Spec Elite anf they are very well made. The reason SOG gets a bad rap on BF, isn't because of their better line, it is because of their cheaper line like the Flash series and the Twitch, Aegis, Trident, ect. They tend to be of lesser quality than other knives in the same class. I have a Twitch and have owned a Flash II, I have handled the rest of the list in person on more than one occasion and aggree with most about blade play and a general flimsy feeling.
If you want a SOG folder then spend the extra and get a nicer one, unless you really like the design of the cheaper models, I would bypass them and you won't be dissappointed.
