Saw this multi-tool on clearance. Since i have never owned a multi-tool and never kept up which is the best multi-tool (Leatherman, Gerber ect) I am not sure if this is thee one to get? Comes with a thickly constucted leather puoch and is on the larger side of the multi-tools I have seen.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Its the PowerLock.

I just ran down to Wallyworld and picked it up anyway.

How does it compare to other brands of multitools???

I can't find it on Wally-World's site? Guess it's a closeout thing and may or may not be in a local store?

I am not sure of all the SOG products but I bought a paratool once and it was the biggest piece of crap I have ever used. It was really badly designed and I have never bought any Sog items since. Im sure some people are very happy with the company though and its only my opinion.

I keep a PowerLock in my car and one at work.

That compounded pliers is really handy sometimes, but a problem at others.

I put it on par with the original production Gerbers (when they were good, except for the pinching). Stout.

As with all multi-tools, whether you like it will come down to how you use it.

I think the Power series are pretty good overall, and for that price it can't be beat.

Congrats.

Funny, that's the multi tool that I like, because of the angle head design. I guess that's why they say everybody has different tastes. :)

Miuke,

You have to ask the clerk to open the drawer behind the diplay case. Thats where they keep the clearance nives in a box. I have ben to sevral WaMarts and it always like this.

Some clerks are crappy and either don't want to bother or are annoyed that you know about it and they don't. I ones had a clerk pull out the drawer and ask about a kinife I was looking at. I told him I would think about it while i shopped. I came back 30 minutes later and the knife I decided on getting was gone and so was the cler.

Here are two knifes i bought today before I went back to get the SOG.

Our nearest WalMart had some Leatherman tools on closeout for $23. I was temped but didn't bite. I'd buy a SOG for $15 in a second. But out WalMart doesn't carry anything from SOG at all. No Spydercos either.

I really like the Gator too. Good score for that price.

When they rang up the Tinker it came to $7.00 and not $11.

The SOG knifes are removed from the new picture board (the one in the glass case) and that is why it is on clearance behingd the counter. Just ask if they have any knifes on clearance behind the counter and see..;)

So what do you say about the Leatherman "Kick" ..? does anyone have any experience with this one?

I have a SOG Power Lock. It's a decent multi-tool. I think you can flip it open with one hand, like a big balisong. :)

I still like my Victorinox Swiss Tool the best though.

I have the FUSE, which has a couple of more tools than the KICK, scissors for one. They are similar otherwise. Nice plyers, comfortable handles, not too heavy. The Wally KICK comes with a leather sheath.
