SOG multitool for sale at Walmart for $19.00

Smart move! Give it a little lubing because the muti-tools seem a bit more likely to corrode than regular knives and when they do you have to soak them to get all the pivots back in operation (I know this big dummy who left his Leatherman in the driveway in the rain for a couple days and I had a time getting it back in operation).

A Powerlock for $19.00 is a great deal.

Dad uses his daily on a working (Beef, blueberries, apples)farm. If my Dad uses it, it's gotta work.

Thanks everybody, but you know what...

I tried opening a can with the can opener last night and it does not work. I have been using these types of openers for 35 years. First off it has a slight slant (or twist) which aligns the blade on the can wrong causing it to get all chewed up. Second, for such a large and heavy tool you think they could have put a larger can opener on it. This thing is smaller than the opner on a Victorianox Soldger.

I Also tried to cut paper with the scissors. I don't think this scissors is made for cutting paper.Which is okay. Not bad but just an observance after testing these two tools. I gues if I needed to cut paper I could use the balde and the scissors I can use on rope :foot: (???????)

I hope the other tools on here work better otherwise I just have a glorified pliers.

Thanks for the pics by the way. I was at walmart and remembered seeing the pictures so thought I would look for the leathermans and lo and behold found them for $15 so I picked one up. It is definately a basic barebones multitool but of good quality and you can barely get the generic ones for the price.

Odd...the can opener on mine works just fine. Though I do feel kinda sad that I paid $36 for a PowerLock about a week ago (but I guess I still got a decent deal).

I compared the can opener on my Powerlock to the one on my victoianox SAK.

I noticed the way both the blades bend to one side. Then I noticed the SOG can opener bends exactly the opposite direction than the SAK. Like mirror opposites. It could be this is for left hand opening or if one goes backwards (blade towards oneself) it will work.

Kinda crazy. Don't ya think?

BTW, I bought the Leatherman at Walmart today for $15. and its can opener works fine.
