Denizens of culture,

Long time multitool nut here, of various sizes, brands, and purposes. It occurs to me the mid size range of plier based multitool offerings are pretty bare. Between the leatherman micra and leatherman wave in size there isn't much, I'm talking in the 3.25 inch range. Swiss army knives are great and I have many, but the folding pliers in the deluxe tinker just don't cut it for some tasks. I've checked out some of the newer companies on the scene like roxon, nextool and others and nothing quite fits the roll.

It's been years since I bought a sog multitool, actually years before they were gobbled up by gsm. I miss the sog of old where they'd sell components individually to customize the tool. Anyway, i picked up what is basically the stand alone multitool for this size range and I gotta say.. I like it. A few simple mods and it's got a fair bit of versatility like running 4mm bits and carrying a corkscrew driver.

I think I'll made some alternative tool holders for the internal tools to swap out as well. Couple size comparison pics next to SAK huntsman.

Very nice. I've found the other SOG version, the PowerPint perfect for a very restrictive work environment with a federal 2.5" blade limit. They're not heavy duty tools, but great EDC small-problem problem-solvers.

Ironically, the PowerPint fits perfectly in a 1911 magazine leather belt pouch and still looks professional enough for suit or sports jacket attire.

I have the powerpint and I really like it. It handles my normal daily needs adequately and is a tough little tool handling moderate abuse quite well.
