Sog Powerlock pliers=magnetic

I noticed that the pliers on my sog Powerlock are slightly magnetized. I have a feeling that they came from the factory that way, but I can't help but wonder if it is somehow by my hand that they were magnetized.

Anybody else notice this?

None of mine appear to be magnetized.

Are you sure that's not "the force".

I've found many tools to adopt a low-level magnetification after much use. Various screw drivers (at least the ones that have been used a lot) as well as my Gerber multi tool picked up a mag. charge over time. I've seen a few pliers do it too, though not nearly as often.

Now that you mention it, I think one of my older Gerbers also has a slight magnetic charge.

No, it's the full size model

According to Chris@SOG, they do not intentionally megnetize them.

My screen is a LCD so I can't use the same test but my Gerber pliers will attract a paper clip. The charge isn't strong enough to hold it suspended though.

You could properly magnetize or demagnetize them with one of these:
