SOG Seal Knife - How good is it?

I think the SOG is a pretty mediocre knife. In my opinion it can't take that much abuse. I would take a ka-bar over it any day and simply oil/clean the knife every once in a while and be much more content.

and for me, having small hands, is a great fit. Light and well balanced. The Elite has a bit thicker steel and the blade is a bit longer than the standard Seal Pup. I have not yet used it on any "heavy" stuff, but for general recreational use (camping, cutting kindling, that kind of stuff), works great and the steel is easy to sharpen and seems to hold an edge pretty well. I am very pleased with the Seal Pup Elite so far.

I use it as my diving knife. I attached the kydex sheath I bought from Blade-Tech (before they came with kydex sheaths). The guy I talked to there said most divers mounted them to the straps of their boyancy compensator device (BCD vest) with nylon ties. I did so and it gave me some comfort (not much) when some Carribean Reef Sharks were getting very close to check me out in the Bahamas.
