sog spec-elite I, what steel?

i just received my spec elite and was wondering if there is any way of knowing if its an aus8 or vg10 blade, hoping its a vg. is there any way of determining it? either way im not complaining, i got it for $55 shipped and im gonna EDC it.

it does say spec elite I seki japan on one side of the blade and on one of the dealers sites that i buy from their desc. says made in the usa.

IIRC, according to the last info posted here by Chris at SOG, there's no way to tell the difference between the older AUS8 knives and the newer VG-10 knives.

(In my view, that's not the greatest executive decision ever made by a knife company.)

I'm pretty sure the web site is wrong, it's made in Seki Japan
